Did anyone else get a double status credits promo today?

Hey All

Well, i finally got the email i've been dreaming about!

I fly back and forth ADL-SYD for work each fortnight and had been doing my sums. At my current rate, i was going to miss out on gold by 50 or so SC's. Was planning a business sector or 2 then i got a double status credit email today

Expires Oct 12 (my end of status year). Only applies to new bookings, sadly, i've got all of August booked. Still, 2 months worth of double SC's are OK with me

Anyone else get it?

I got mine a few months ago , flew Perth- Adl yesterday but didn't get double as I had reg for , will make the phone call tomorrow

The bonus SC normally post sometime after the flight, rather than at the same time (a few days to a few weeks after!).

would be great, i've got a Paid J fare (Thank you Citibank PMG) coming up for CBR-SYD-PER-SYD-CBR, and an LAX-SFO in AA F.

Also a bit of a pity that I have a Classic award coming up for CBR-SYD-LAX-MEL-CBR in J

Reading the offer again it is only valid for new bookings (so for SWMBO her existing J trip to Europe does not count)

same here, happy for SWMBO though, she wont like the flying for the SC's sake but I'll throw in some shopping money for in MEL And when she realized that she would loose Flounge access if she didn't do it was ok

Double status credits are a marketing tool by Qantas, not a reward.

From my experience the offers arrive 3 months before the end of your Frequent Flyer year. They seem to be sent to those who Qantas (or their computer) thinks may fall a little short of achieving a particular status level (SG or WP). The idea is to encourage you to make flights you would not otherwise have made.

Double credits only apply to new reservations - there is no value to Qantas in giving additional status credits for bookings already made.

It worked for me. Since I received the offer in early June I have made two JASA trips I would not otherwise have made and am now WP for the first time.

Nope, Not I. But I was part of the APR-JUN promotion, which pushed me to WP. Need another 980SC's by 31-Dec to get the "additional" Platinum benefits. Would't mind receiving Double SC's as I am travelling a bit this month, but preferably not all During September and October. So to end my rambling..I don't think I'm the intended target for this one!

Not in my experience.. Last year and this year they came at the start of my FF year.. Made re-qualifying for WP a breeze as I hadn't booked any travel at that point!
