Looking at a SYD-DPS-SIN booking with VA and SQ on the same booking ticket through Aeroplan.

Keen to hear if anyone has booked similar and the transit process in Denpasar and if you'd be ticketed through to Singapore even though you're on different airlines.

I transited DPS a couple of months ago on a single (JQ connecting to 3K) booking.

If your bag has been checked through to SIN and you hold your connecting boarding pass, there is a transit desk / security screening point just before the immigration counters (head straight rather than turn right to the immigration counters). After security an escalator takes you back up to the departures level (near gate 1).

My wife recently transited from TG to VA at DPS on separate bookings. Exit immigration, collect bags, checkin new flight. Relatively simple process.

At this stage I think we will do same in Jan 2024 flying CNX-BKK-DPS on one ticket and DPS-BNE on another ticket but may end up in hotel for 1 night.

I guess it depends what time! We arrived three weeks ago to immigration queues of an hour or more. And more queues for visa on arrival and again for customs. The reverse took us 45 minutes to clear security and passport control! :(

Staying airside would be the way to go. Having to enter indonesia would add two-three hours at busy times.

Your wife I assume is still a Thai citizen? If so she would not need a visa or visa on arrival. However for most Australian citizens at the moment they need to pay $50 for a visa if passing through passport control (I.e. going landside) even if just doing so to do check in for an onwards flight. That takes time unless you pre organise.

True. Wife/daughter are Thai citizens so no need for Visa.

I've searched and the cheapest way to go CNX-BNE one-way is via DPS and I cannot see how to do that on one ticket with transit protection and keep costs down. LCC to arrive DPS 12:50am and depart DPS on VA next evening with one VOA and hotel for 1 night.
