Hi All, I've come across the following flights, they'd all be on the same ticket (UA award ticket) with just a 2hr 5min transit in Denpasar. Is there even an airside transit facility in Bali? and is this too risky? The other option is a 9am flight from Singapore that leaves a 9hr layover in Bali.

How did you go with this? I am flying SIN-DPS-SYD all on a single Jetstar itinerary next week. Hoping like hell not to have to go through customs. The stop is 4 hours. According to Jetstar, on an international to international transit, they tag the bags all the way to the final destination.

This may be worth reading:

Worked fine. Bags were checked through to SYD, and on arrival in DPS I proceeded to QF transfer desk where my BP (and lounge invitation) were waiting for me. I had to find my own way there as I was transferring to QF, but for those transferring to other Jetstar flights to Australia a staff member had a sign and were assisting transfering passengers, but there was also a Jetstar transfer desk.

I doubt Jetstar does airside transfers at DPS. In my opinion, expect to have to clear customs
Nope even on Jetstar only flights provided it’s a single ticket they allow airside transits with bags checked through and boarding passes for all flights issued in Singapore.

Normally they’ll send someone to the arriving gate to point transit passengers in the right direction.

I'm flying MEL(VA)-DPS(SQ)-SIN in business class next month with a 5-hour layover in DPS.

I don't expect any airside transfer, after all it's Indonesia, but I'll look for one anyway.

I've done a DPS airside transit. It was a breeze.

In my case it was Jetstar to Jetstar (3K to JQ) sold on a single booking.

I had my onward boarding pass and didn't need to go to the transfer desk. But there was indeed a transfer desk there with several airlines on display.

So, if you have your onward boarding pass you should be right. Else try the transfer desk.

Jetstar, on a single booking, will transfer checked luggage. Even if you have checked luggage that's not checked through, many transfer desks can take care of it.

You really need to avoid going landside at DPS, if at all possible.

Just thought I'd add a data point for November 2023 given I searched and found this thread when making my own enquiries.

Flying SYD-DPS-DXB on a single PNR with QF and then EK. Checked in at SYD and was advised bags tagged through to DXB but they could not issue the DPS-DXB boarding pass.

QF43 arrived at DPS at 2000h. Met at the gate by staff who walked me to the transit desk. Staff took a photo of my passport and went upstairs to the EK checkin desk who issued the boarding pass whilst I waited at the transit desk. That process took about 30 minutes. It was then a two minute walk through security again, up the stairs and I found myself at Gate 2.

Arrived at 2000h, was here in the Condordion lounge at 2100h. Pretty painless. Hopefully the bags make it!

@pmdg7444 - do you by any chance know whether the transfer desk is manned in CGK for Qatar Airways?

@daveS - was this when Qatar check-in was open for one of their flights or outside these hours? if outside, where did you find this person? I am asking as I am having one QF reward booking on QF from SYD 2 CGK and then a revenue booking on a separate ticket / separate PNR on QR. While I am convinced that luggage will be checked through, I am still unsure whether QF staff can/will check me in for the onward flight on QR out of CGK and issue boarding passes in SYD. Obviously, I want to avoid doing immigration and buying a VoA.
Sorry, I hadn’t seen this until now. QR check in was closed. I went to QF check in and asked if anyone from QR was around and they directed me to their office up on the mezzanine level.
Woman up there was great. And great outcome.
