Denali Demo and Rebuild

We went to our storage unit to pick up the fans, lights and pendants for Monday electrical fitout.

Cheaper to use our own sparky and pay a day rate to get them to do all the work. Sparky worked with hubby for 30yrs so mates rates helps and we got permission to do works before handover.

Making use of our new garage shelving already

I also contacted our garage fitout people to come back on Friday to install a 900w x 200h cabinet with doors to go to the left of the work bench.

Electrical fitout finished before handover, which is very nice to tick off

Good plan.
And hire someone to install them! 🤣
Our challenges are the ones about eight metres above stairs - and others a bit higher over an atrium.
But not anywhere as fancy as yours. :)
Absolutely have someone else get on the ladders - same with checking the smoke alarms, we get our sparky to do. We usually have a few things to do and at mum in laws/next door so get a half or full day rate

So today is handover date but at this moment the carpet is being installed, the plumbers are putting back the outdoor front tap that they removed and the cleaners are due and because of the weather, they can't remove the rubbish pile.

I envisioned handover date as happy and calm. Red ribbon on the door, here are your keys and hamper, happy snaps and they leave. I am not getting that experience at all. I've had appliances delivered, mattress is due and they have to be put in the garage because of the flooring guys. My SS said he will have the appliances installed but it's not the same.

The carpet guys are miserable grumps who are complaining about the weight of our carpet, the other people on site and now the appliances in the garage, even though they are not working in the garage.... but it could also be because I told my SS last night they didn't do the underlay underneath the stairs and now they're also doing that.

Breathe. This too shall pass. That old saying. The carpet guys will do their thing and be gone from your life. And they will still be grumpy installing others carpets. While you will be enjoying yours.

Also. Fact. The closer you get to a target, the more the anxiety increases. In Rats this means the closer they get to the reward (food) the faster they run. Yes. A third year Uni Psych experiment. 😂. It didn’t end well for those rats. Anatomy followed shortly after.

To deal with my emotions.... Im shopping... again 🤣

I want to add pull out drawers to under sink, vanities ect so requested a quote: home

Yesterday we went to our storage unit and took as many things we could and theyre in the garage (on the shelving) and it looks like a Good Guys aisle 🤣.... yes, I do need three vacuums when one of the cleaners asked but one is for the garage. Ive been buying at sales/with coupons since before demo and these boxes are only a fraction of what I bought.

Ive also have movers arranged for tomorrow (lounges, bed frames, coffee tables ect) and box mover helpers next week to get half of the of the boxes as I can only manage this in halves as Mr Denali is zero help.

Mr Denali has already moved our very few items out of mum in laws and onto the verandah so I hope no random person going buy thinks its a FB pickup and takes stuff

Well you’ve got that covered too because if they nab stuff we will see it here.

Is that the Scottish dog walker?
Yes... He was telling Mr Denali that the dodgy build up the road got a $22K bill from Workcover from when they built scaffolding around the live wires. He knows this as the owner blames neighbour and demanded they pay for it 🤣. Words like "add it to the asbestos bill that I'm also not paying" was said
