Delta Comfort Plus SC earn with VA

I know on the DL page it now says Y+ is available on DL but is anyone concerned that VA haven't updated the actual chart at https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/content/Info/StatusEarnFareClass/ cause that still says W fares only earn on W fares available as codeshares on VA.

See post #71 from the VA site.. I attached here as well.

There are 2 spots on the VA site for updating and they have only updated 1 of the 2. The annoying part is the SC earn table is the more important one IMO

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

Yeah the coughpy AUD doesn't help, but flights from YYZ-LAS were expensive in Y so wasn't too much more for F and I figure its an easy way of picking up 500SC (4 tickets) which along with the BNE-SYD-LAX-BNE and LAX-SEA should be a decent SC earner when family pooling is taken into account.
That jaggered little line to the north of the USA seems to have a massive toll gantry ;) Flying to/From Canada is a rip off most the time. I've been to YYZ a few times, and never managed to find reasonably priced fares, so yes, you did well here:)

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

2440
That's near $5/SC. Not great value by 'run' standards in the USA, but cheaper than you can typically find SC's for in Australia.

There used to be 100SC's for around $250USD on DL, but the introduction of the W fare has killed it (that was in F, now F is substantially more expensive on that route, and W is more than the old F was).

Swings and roundabouts, you just have to keep searching :)

Or 240 for $470 back in the day ;)

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

Having a look at this for a LAX/SFO day return mid next month. They have hourly flights during the day.

Econ. (V), 20 SC for USD131
Prem. (W), 60 SC for USD151
First (G), 80 SC for USD317

All fares are 21 day advance purchase with a USD200 change/cancellation fee.

I am thinking these sort of fares are introductory & wont last too long ....

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

Hey Serfty, when you figured out the SC's for Delta (or any other VA partner), are the SC's calculated by mileage just like here in Australia?

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

They are calculated by mileage from each leg. To the OP, you're up to 90 SC's.

30 Missoula to SLC and another 60 SC's to Newark.

It is a great deal, but I still recommend that everyone should look at DL first prices too.

Yes, It is based on miles flown. The DL website is very good. You can just select the flight, click on details, click on the flight number and it reveals the miles for the sector.

Then just refer to the SC earn table on Velocity site

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

I live in Toronto and just booked F on DL round trip to JFK for $350CAD. Y was $300 but I earn 80SC as opposed to 20SC. Easy decision.

SC's just landed. Got the 90. Pretty good considering my Saver fare from SYD to LAX got me 40SC and cost $600 more, and that I'd need to fly SYD MEL twice on a full flexi to get 80. My Saver Delta fares got me 20SC a piece, did three segments to MSO. With a four segment return trip in to LAX in Comfort Plus to come home I should net another 120 plus the 40 for my flight home. 360 SCs ain't too bad for the trip! Will have to wait to see how much the flights back to LAX cost though.

How long from flight until the SC were credited?

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

I booked a couple of DL flights over the weekend. Comfort+ was only about $15 more than economy. First was about $150.

Great value with Comfort+ at least for SC's.

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

Glad this came up. I have some flights in October and was looking at SEA-LAX. Economy (X) is $US90 and Comfort Plus (W) is $US109. That's pretty cheap SCs!

I have noticed this also, LAX -YVR only $20 more for significant status point difference.
I forgot the math though.

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

any way of upgrading a reward flight from Virgin to Comfort+ ?

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

No - as comfort plus is not offered as a reward ..only cash fair

Thanks, my ticket was booked as a reward but my wife and daughter were paid flights via delta, so I might go ahead and upgrade them to + if the costs are reasonable enough for the status credit increase.

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

I booked a LAX-YVR flight months ago before I knew about this. It was very cheap though. Still would have been nice to get the extra SCs.

I've also got to get from YVR to SEA on this trip but I might take the train as the prices are stupid.

I booked SEA-YVR on the train, business class train tickets were around $200 for 4 of us in August, I hear the scenery is outstanding.
