Delta Comfort Plus SC earn with VA

Can the VFF rep on this site confirm that Comfort+ (W) class booked on the Delta website for flight(s) on Delta metal WILL earn Velocity points (at 1.25 per mile) AND SC's? I'll try sending a PM pointing to this thread to see whether they can confirm things.......

I called the gold line today and requested information on the status earn for the "w" class on the May Delta changes.

The guy I spoke to was aware of the upcoming changes but did not know VA stance on the SC earn

His "gut" feel was full fare economy but would not commit without asking the powers at be. he promised to call me tomorrow.

As I did not receive the promised call back I contacted the call centre again and was told it has been raised with management and I will be contacted once a decision is made ( not holding my breath ).

Went on the VA facebook site and messaged them the same request and they have advised it needs to be investigated. ???

I think a few customers may need to raise this with VA to get a result. I need to book approx 8 flights June, July and wish this was sorted

FWIW, I hope they fix it.

However, in the mean time have you looked at how little more the First/Business fares may be? I rarely bother with coach on DL.

Yes I hope so too.

Thanks Serfty I have been looking at first in light of this as I cannot afford for the flights to be "non earning". A couple of flights have been close in price and a few have been way over. I am still in the process of trying to work out a rough plan on pricing and which days / routes are better.
 
I have contacted VA again by phone pushing for this. They tell me should have a definitive answer sometime this week.

My wife also contacted by facebook direct message and they have come back to say pretty much the same. Should have an answer either way this week

Shame the VFF rep did not get involved in this discussion to assist. It really is like VA just found out about this and they have no idea what to say to customers.

Call centre called me as well to advise they don't know anything yet, waiting on Delta to confirm.
 
Glad I saw this thread, I hadn't noticed the distinction and had calculated my SC earn based on PE. Haven't booked flights yet so will go with Y...boo!
 
VA called me again today to advise they are waiting on Delta. As serfty said up thread know your fare class for this type of thing.

I got the impression that not many people have raised this with VA or pushed them on it, hence the slow up take. Can I also suggest you contact the call centre and raise the query and request for written confirmation or message on Facebook the same thing.

I have already booked my flights now in first, as I cannot wait for this to be sorted, but out of principle I would like to see someone at VA and or DL pull their finger out .

Had a joke of a response from the facebook message team. They have zero idea. I have saved a screen shot of the messages for my records.

I have now lodged a complaint and escalated to management.

For me now, this is a matter of principle and the way in which VA have avoided answering the questions and passing the buck quite frankly is not good enough and not how a customer focussed business should be run.

For me now, this is a matter of principle and the way in which VA have avoided answering the questions and passing the buck quite frankly is not good enough and not how a customer focussed business should be run.

Don't expect much from management either. I've escalated things a few times with VA and relating to matters that involved CASA they said ask CASA we have no idea why we can do this and another instance I've been labelled a nosey annoyance because I was watching what a FA was doing in regards to their bags and row 3.

One of the problems I find with VA is that no one wants to take ownership of problems, or trying to resolve the problems.
 
Well here is the email reply from VA tonight

" I am contacting in regard to your enquiry about earning Points with Delta Airlines from 16 May, 2016.

Please note that the earn rate for the Status Credits will still be the same as that on earn table which can be found in Velocity website. "


I still don't believe them, but it is now in writing i guess.

Side note 1 - I am a little shocked at the appalling English and grammar.

Side note 2 - I never asked about "points"
 
Anyone asked Delta? They can't update on behalf of VA directly, but if anybody cares, DL should... since being non-earning means you're less likely to buy those W fares from them!
