DELTA AIR LINES has easily beaten Virgin Blue's long-haul airline, V Australia, in attracting passengers in its first month of operation between Australia and the US.

V-Aus still has some ground to make up....
We must remember that Delta already has a significant US customer base and that V Australia has to build that loyalty from a humble start.
 
Exactly, if DL hadn't beat VA something would be seriously wrong. DL are the largest airline in the world and can connect pax to and from more US destinations than any other airline. VA are building on a largely Australian base connecting from only a handful of DJ ports and onto an even smaller number of US cities.

Exactly and VA's loads should improve now through flight consolidation now they have started cancelling and pullling capacity off the US routes and re-depolying in an effort to get into the black faster.
