Delhi Airport (DEL) Transit Experinces

Leave the airport and pick your favourite brand of hotel at Aerocity. That's my advice.

You can also ask your hotel to provide a car pickup service at the airport, which again will be expensive by Indian terms but not really in AUD (maybe $30-40). This is highly recommended especially since this is your first visit to India. You provide your flight details and they will wait in the reception area (after exiting customs) with your name on a sign - they will be there to meet you no matter how late your flight might be.
I was flying SQ R to DXB with a few days layover, then onto NLA on a Star alliance SQ redemption (ET metal)
With SQ not currently flying to DXB I had the tickets changed to DEL as they fly F/R there, and there were plenty of J reward seats available DELxADD-NLA.

So I now have a couple of nights in DEL on the way, and one on the way back, instead of DXB.
I have booked into the Pullman using an Accor stay plus, looks like there is the option of requesting a transfer from them - is there anything wrong with a taxi or uber or one of the transfer companies offering online? Any recommendations?

Is it cash, or will a card like Wise be ok?

I did an organised tour of the golden triangle back in '17 - flying in and out of Delhi - I loved the place

I'll be at the pullman aero city on 2/6. I'll find out

I think it is nicer to have a pre-booked car so someone is waiting for you with your name on a board.

So much easier than having to navigate throngs of people!

Not necessarily the hotel option though… just a reliable transfer from somewhere.

We hardly used any cash last year. I think the in,y place we paid cash was for my massage/chiropractor ‘guru’ (who said I had a lifetime guarantee that I’d been fixed… must go back to claim that!)

I've not used an uber from DEL but I'm pretty sure the uber pickup is probably in one of the parking garages and Im sure it will be sign posted. Using the hotel car just means someone is waiting with the hotel name on as you exit. They'll walk you to the car so trying to figure it out in the heat (or cold if its winter). Sure an Uber will probably cost 25% of the amount but its not big bickies. Email the hotel for a quote or if you need I can pull up an old email and find out what I paid.

The other advantage is you earn ALL points since you just charge to your room :)

I just used my credit card. No need for cash at the hotel. A few minutes walk in the Aerocity is like a modern food court too. Credit card used there too.

Not sure how long your stopover is. When I had a day free I also just used the hotel to organise a driver and car (one of there's) to take me around a few sites. I think it cost me ~$100 AUD and was truly looked after. Again, I'm sure I could have saved money by organising a third party but convenience.

This! It's a small price for convenience.

@Steady when are you going?

I’m there ~ 2nd and 18th August

If you need a small amount of cash and are in PER prior, I can sort you out. You won't need cash though IMHO.
I’m in Perth Monday….. I probably have a little from my last trip- i usually keep a little bit
