Deadline to Cancel AMEX Platinum Charge Card

Hi,

My platinum charge card anniversary date / approval date is 23 March 2017.

Based on last year's statement, the annual fee was charged on 19 April 2017.

Could I continue to use the card after 23 March 2017, utilize the privileges eg Priority Pass; and cancel it once the annual fee charge appears on the transaction. What is the ultimate deadline to cancel the card?

Call and ask them when the annual fee is due to be charged on the card. Provides you cancel it before that date, you shouldn't be charged the fee.

We did this with Mrs tizey plat charge - cancelled it the night before the annual fee was to be debited. Made sure all points cleared out a few days beforehand and credited to chosen program.

That said, I was nervous as getting it wrong was a $1200 hit!

Within 30 days after you have been charged, you can get the fees refunded.
