Re: David Jones American Express - New Offer - 40,000 MR (20,000 SPG) - Annual Fee $9

I'm curious as to whether this was an AMEX wide issue or just the applications for DJ's cards as this card seems to have several different rules (Eligible for bonus despite having held a AMEX in the last 18 months, this card not being part of the Local Champion promotion etc). I had to make several calls to get my issue sorted. They finally admitted to there being a problem and saw the applications in the system. They processed it on the spot and I received my card in yesterdays mail.

From what I have seen it was just for AMEX DJ cards.

Thanks for the update.

I called again as well today. Basically the same response that you have received. I upped the ante by saying I wanted another 20,000 points for the inconvenience. They said that they'd consider it.

What ever happened with this Dr Ralph? Did they come to the party?

I didn't receive anything extra for the delay.

Saurs82, have you received any referral points from my application? Anyone who applied for this card recently, how long did it take to receive the signup bonus points after the minimum spend was achieved. I've had the card for just on 2 weeks now and not been credited anything and am finding the purchases don't show on my account for days.

I'm thinking it was due to previously holding the Qantas Premium AMEX on the same account, even though it was clearly stipulated both in writing and by a telephone consultant that this would not impact it.

And for anyone still interested in this card, here is another referral link if you are interested.
http://amex.com.au/refer/tonyswHFf

You receive 40,000 reward points (30,000 QFF points) if approved for a David Jones American Express card and spend outside of DJs 3 times in the first month, I get 20,000 reward points for each successful referral.

Received my bonus points 24 hours after 3rd spend.

Looks like AMEX have fixed their online application problems so time to get on board.

My referral link:

I will receive 20,000 points should you be kind enough to use my referral link.

Used your referral link, hopefully I get approved. Already holding Edge and Explorer.

Re: David Jones American Express - New Offer - 40,000 MR (20,000 SPG) - Annual Fee $9

Got a text message to call them regarding my application. Called and was told that the max number of Amexes I could have was 2. I did ask whether the DJs card was treated as separate and he said no. He said I could apply for a DJs store card...
I guess it might just be who you get that processes your application. I got unlucky in this case.

Alternative is to cancel one of your existing cards. Do you really need both Edge and Explorer?

Re: David Jones American Express - New Offer - 40,000 MR (20,000 SPG) - Annual Fee $9

Was looking to add my referral link after using one from this thread but there does not appear to be an option to refer a friend anymore for this card :(

Means that I can't add my link but people can still use those links in this thread for the 10,000 bonus points.

Guess there card was too popular and AMEX didn't need to generate anymore new accounts.

Re: David Jones American Express - New Offer - 40,000 MR (20,000 SPG) - Annual Fee $9

No, its definitely still available.. I just re-produced my link (http://amex.com.au/refer/chrisrHOMf if you would be so kind... 40,000 DJ MR Points for you, 20,000 for me with $99 annual fee)... but you have to go about it in a different way.

Follow this link, and login to your amex account via it. It will allow you to generate your Amex DJ Referral link. No idea why its so long, but its the google result, and allows production of referral links.

Enjoy and good luck - this is a great card!

Can't see anyway to generate a link. Can you please tell me where on the site this is possible?

Re: David Jones American Express - New Offer - 40,000 MR (20,000 SPG) - Annual Fee $9

Login to the link on 'this' in the 2nd pagagraph above - it is the amex website, and once you're in, it will show you the referral link for the amex card you logged into.

I've hyperlinked it in 'this' as it is about a mile long... see below:

Top of page after you log in there is a drop down menu which states 'Rewards'. Click on that and you should see 'Refer friends and earn rewards'

If people can't find any other link mine is still available:

http://amex.com.au/refer/davidnmYu2

By using this link you will gain 40,000 points and I will benefit by 20,000 points.

Re: David Jones American Express - New Offer - 40,000 MR (20,000 SPG) - Annual Fee $9

Got it! Seemed to be a problem with Chrome. Worked with IE.

After using a referral link from this thread I'm throwing my hat in the ring for a referral for this card. Not sure why it isn't more popular. Remember you can get this card even if you've had another AMEX card within the last 18 months. It's good for some quick points to use towards Velocity or SPG but there are plenty of other options to convert the points as well.

If you are so kind as to use my link I'll score 20,000 points and you will get an additional 10,000 points compared to signing up without using a link (40,000 points in total).

I'm considering picking up this card as it's the only other Amex sign-on bonus I can get at the moment. Anyone tried linking their DJMR to Ascent?

I haven't tried. But why would you want to? 3 points per dollar for spend at major supermarkets + petrol stations for this card.

Mainly for the 1:1 transfers to airlines instead of what looks like 2:1 with DJMR

I haven't tried, but keep in mind this program is run by AMEX on behalf of DJ so it's quite different to the other AMEX programs - different BPAY biller code, call centre etc. I would be surprised if you were able to link them.
