For the last few years I have enjoyed the Darwin to London route. JQ to Singapore and then join QF9 for a pleasant J class sleep. A whole lot quicker than going via other Aussie cities.

Now the QF metal is going via DXB, what are the choices out of SIN? I'm guessing there is very little chance of a QF/EK DXB service from Darwin! I value short journey times and status credits...

Probably the best option, if JQ maintain their current services between DRW & SIN, is connection onto BA service to LHR. Otherwise if you want status credits you would need to look an extra stop after the JQ flight - options being AY via HEL (current) or if QF codeshare on EK out of SIN then EK via DXB. MH via KUL would also be an option, once they join OW, but probably won't connect with the DRW services.

JQ to Sin then onto ek to dxb the qf to lhr.

Its difficult to answer until qf/ek publish combined schedules.

f not going to lhr as final destination, AY via Hel to your final destination would be reasonable.

CX also fly to dps so you could do drw-dps-hkg-lhr. Depends on what your compromises/preferences are: price, shortest timing, must be oneworld etc.

Thanks

Watching and waiting will be the plan!

Fingers crossed for a DRW - DXB service...

.

You don't mention BA, wouldn't they the best option in J - as a simple one stop - it's not as if at this stage BA (or QF) are leaving oneworld. This avoids an uncessary stop in DXB in the middle of the night.

Uh, you had mentioned that one already, I was providing alternatives.

Another option if the op is prepared to switch alliances to VA (? Status match) then
silkair to sin onto sq to London is a good alternative.

This is the way i'm going now. Cheaper J seats on CX out of DPS and a nice short flight from DRW before stopping over

Ah, yeh oops. The SQ/MI options sounds good in theory as J class all the way, but the MI departure time from DRW (2am) may be a little challenging, although it does connect to pleasant day flight to LHR. Of course looking at OW there could also be a future routing via CMB on UL

I looked at the EK website and you can fly SIN to DBX and onto LHR.

EK code shares with JQ to go rom DRW to SIN

Decided to dig up my old thread...

I would seem that booking through QF will require at least an extra 10 hours travel time, with most options being via SYD or MEL.

The QF booking system doesn't provide any options via SIN with JQ. I used the multicity tool, I got a quote for 13000 return in Y for DRW-LHR, and it still insisted on taking me via SYD!

I give up...

So, forgive my ignorance, you cannot book a QF code share on JQ metal DRW-SIN? Is that right?

Edit: Just tried it with DRW-SIN return and you are right - throws you out into the Jetstar website and obviously you then have pay for the Max bundle to get SC's/food/IFE/water....etc

Maybe just JQ to SIN is the way to go and give yourself a safety margin to connect to AY or maybe BA flights SIN to Europe as a lot of others have suggested.
