And I am surprised? Sounds like the old you on the QM2 trip to HGK. :p:D
It’s funny you should say that. There is a lady on here who joined us in the long walk to get on to the boat on day 1. She has peripheral neuropathy. She took it easy for most of the trip but she let it rip on the party night. The next day she looked so very ill. There’s another lady with early stages MS who experiences early mobility issues.

Can't really say 'Like' but interesting to read. Hope you have been sensible! :)

Split airport is an awful zoo. Horrible. People sitting on escalator stairs! Multiple delayed flights. Ours ok so far. But it is probably always a zoo.

We were lucky that our flight was on time. Arrived in Paris. Traffic awful as there is a rail strike today and there is this:

Yep. Rugby World 7’s. Immense security.

Gosh Paris is becoming a hole in the outskirts. Guys everywhere at intersections banging on cars. We are in the central part. Arrondisement 1 near the Louvre. It’s in a mall so no traffic noise. I think they upgraded us. Room is very large with excellent bathroom, rain shower head and a new toilet that has the new function wash system. I’m happy.

Photos tomorrow.

And it’s Happy Birthday and Congratulations to you and MrP for your Ruby Wedding anniversary. Have a great day.
Thank you love_the_life. It’s 6.10am and I’m awake but typing in the dark. Weather nice. Great location.

We realised as we strolled around last night that the terror atracks took place near here several months ago. We are down the road from a police station. Cops everywhere. Carrying major rifles. There is a large van which seems to be some kind of victim response emergency ambulance that drives around. Gangs of a particular racial group hanging around. Not gypsys. Leave their rubbish everywhere. Even right near this beautiful cathedral. Adjacent to which is a noisy skatepark. It’s all a little eye opening. It was obvious a couple of years ago but the gorgeous Paris is gone. Too many disparate social groups now. I feel like a peasant who became annoyed when the car took over from horse and cart.

Photos from last night. Just nearby is Les Halles shopping Centre. Had dinner last night and thanked the waiter in Italian. WT is that! I speak a little French and barely any Italian and I thank him in Italian?

Beautiful cathedral near Les Hailles. The Park nearby attracts large gangs. And police with armalites.

It was still very light at 10pm.

Best ever ice cream. Creme Brûlée.

Our hotel. Gorgeous. Will post photos of our room when it’s serviced. Downstairs is a tiny lobby. Tres Parisian. It has a never ending bowl of Lindt chocolates in the foyer. Gotta love that.

I didn’t mention. Immigration was amazing. Arrived into the new area of CDG. We were second to the immigration desk. No questions. Stamped and in. So different to Stockholm last year who wanted to know everything.

I don’t think I mentioned. The trains to Reims are supposed to be running today according to an email I received. But they’ve already refunded the train costs. Helps a little :)

I’ll put in a claim for the one night we had to pay in Venice when I get back.

Bummer! But suppose it was something you couldn't take the risk with as you wouldn't have have had enough time to make alternative celebration plans.

Agree totally. And others on the cruise got stuck earlier and had to pay 300 € just to get to where they needed to be. Plus with only 3 days here and a tour on Tuesday we didn’t want to get stuck.

International Bike Day. Parade of around 3 kilometers. Got sick of waiting so cut across them. Then 10 police wagons with sirens blazing drove straight through the middle of them. Not sure if something is up.

Blah. WiFi down the morning I’d allocated for work stuff. Essential stuff done by hotspot va phone.

BBL but Lido was absolutely fantastic.

Odette looks lovely. We stayed right around the corner from there in November and really enjoyed that area (stayed in Marais last trip). There is a little restaurant in all those lane ways called White House which was classic French bistro and very reasonable.
