CX QF WP treatment

Just boarded CX830 HKG-JFK
it’s been a dream run with CX as QF WP no wonder QF credits 0 SC with them
Was personally greeted, offered any meal choice (chose the braised duck, IN Y) and drink on boarding and like previous leg amazing service (the only QF WP treatment I’ve gotten is ‘welcome back’)
No wonder QF is not crediting them, I feel so ashamed to be a QF elite when my hometown HKG has such an amazing airline
Seriously Imho even better than SQ

Last leg ground staff blocked off a bulkhead for me and flight attendant offered me a whole empty row as my second personal row for sleeping without the exit row armrests

Most CX Economy fares these days don't earn anything on QFF. And it doesn't matter which option you choose when booking (essential/flex etc).

CX are the benchmark, and in my experience they put QF to shame.

The issue is that the vast majority of CX whY fares are sold in non-earning fare classes (even if more expensive 'flex' options). PE is usually flexible economy for the cheaper fares, while J is okay (but nerfed out of the east coast of Australia thanks to QFF policy).

The funny thing is that if you assume no DSC, the earning is still better on a CX J ticket to (most of) Japan from Australia compared to flying Qantas. Not to mention it's usually a fair bit cheaper. 60 + 80 > 120.

LOL CX don’t want to pay QFF for the points, and you can easily select a points earning fare with a good TA for y travel

You can always get Cathay to do it for you - over the phone or via Whatsapp. But tbh it's usually a decent bump up in price, so not worth it. There's another workaround if you're only after points and not QF SC.

If flying whY, then also a good use of points (doesn’t matter then about earn). You still get the same treatment as OWE!
