Thats a huge difference. Previously every time I searched for flights with CX to taiwan, it comes out $1500+. Which baffled me.

This makes so much more sense.

Lost count of how many flights I've done with CX over decades, always a pleasure in Y or J. Not a bad OneWorld lounge crawl with the good woman in HKG either.

I'm with you, John. Did the A330 and 777 CX Y to/from HK last week. Exit rows to make it as good as possible and daylight flights. Wouldn't have raved about it. Particularly the A330.

But, it was a super good fare, so really can't complain too much!

I really like the CX J Product on A359 and 777. The HK lounges are the best. Booked with QF points and lots of availability.

and on QF price just gets better here SYD/HKG/SYD Y $678!.

Wasn't a QF earlier this year $599? Booked return in June with 43H each way pre-allocated. Think it's also double QFF points.

Sure was, however anything on QF under $700 return to Asia is good.

Agreed but personally I'm happy with anything on QF under $800 and would gladly pay up to $1000 for travel in peak times.

My preferred airlines for economy are QF and SQ booked via Virgin Australia. I keep baulking at CX airfares as cheapest airfare hardly ever earns anything and I need to earn something for my sanity to remain intact.
