Hi

On an upcoming SYD-HKG-SYD flight with CX, I've chosen seating in Row 30, the first row if Y-class for both legs.

Seat Guru, has an alert that due to the bulkhead, there is limited legroom, and obviously being close to the galley/toilets may not be your cup of tea. Does anyone have any personal experience?

On the return leg, I particulalry want to be close to the pointy end, as my friend will be travelling in J. He is likely to skip dinner and head straight to sleep (flight dept 23:55). If he asks the FA to send his J dinner to me in Y, what are the chances CX FA helping us out :D.

Thanks

You can always ask, but I’m not sure on the chances of a whole meal being passed down to Y, even if you’re in the front row. Quite often a OWE/CX Diamond member will be asked if he’d like a wine from J… but not a whole meal :p

No personal experience with that seat, however am looking to get that seat allocation myself for mid Oct SYD-HKG-SYD flight. Do you need status to get the front row of economy on CX? I am QC Bronze, so no status as yet!

The refusal will come with a kind, gracious smile, but it will be a refusal nonetheless.

I can completely recommend against the first bulkhead row of Y on the CX A330 (new config). I flew it HKG-ADL-MEL and the legroom truly is restricted. Any non-bulkhead row would be far superior if you can't score an exit row.

I would recommend against it completely.

Thought the chances will be low, but will give it a try....;). This will be my first flight on CX as well.

Seat was requested through the agent (my friend), and row 30 was the only row free at the front of Y. Makes sense now :-|
