Customer Loyalty Bonus Points

Because they already remove the points today before I rang, and they hadn't given normal points which they should have. And I need to transfer the correct balances, and not do anything stupid like transferring points not entitled too.

I transfered my points before even looking on here as I do every week. If you have 25K spend a month and get 14K bonus points for customer loyalty after years of ..... customer loyalty, then maybe I thought that was good of them. I didn't think ah yes a chance to rip off Amex MR. They will now make my balance negative for a couple of weeks before it is once again positive. Not really a big concern, it wasn't a chargeable offence :p

I've had some of these points post since Monday, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which merchants they post for.

I had the bonus points for a parking transaction on Tuesday, then nothing for the same merchant the next day.

I seem to be averaging around 4 points/$ in total for the transactions where they've posted.

Cheers

Steve

Yes, just checked mine this morning and also have about 2.25 bonus points per dollar.
Why not move all IT processing off-shore and then we can all get more bonus points or more promotions. ;)

Why on earth would you call MR to notify them of this????
Some people do not take a wait and see attitude. There is no right or wrong.

"Customer Loyalty Bonus"

Me wonders if this is for an upcoming promotion to keep us with the true Amex cards and not the bank issued ones....

I wonder what the tiers were for..

Hopefully another promotion soon though!

I am only getting the Loyalty points with spending on QF. My $1620 spend with them earnt a total of 6,050 points.

And as fast as they arrive, they're gone!

Nor me.
I do love getting the 2.5 points per dollar on QF purchases.
What have I done with so many points? I seem to be burning them faster than I am making them this year.

Just a quick update on this.

Last Tuesday I got quite a few bonus points as a customer loyalty bonus. I transfered those points leaving my MR balance at nil. Last Thursday I received more reward points (not bonus points) from purchases made with the card, I transfered these on Friday, again leaving a nil balance.

As at Tuesday morning I still had a nil points balance. Someone mentioned that Amex can put your point balance into debit. Has anyone had this happen ?

I know this is comparing apples and oranges but citibank have put my visa card into points deficit before...

If they don't take the account into debt I would think that as soon as any more points hit your account they will be deducted to cover the original overpayment. :(

Just a quick update, I now have received 2 lots of points and transfered both to krisflyer since my bonus points were credited. I think that we can assume from this that AMEX cannot put your points account in debit and that if you are lucky enough to have transfered your points before they noticed the error then they are not looking at pursuing you to get them back.

I still ask for anyone that has ever had a negative points balance with AMEX to come forward, I suspect there is nobody out there.

I'll stick by my original statement. When points are due they will be deducted the same as if there is a transaction reversal and they claw the points back. This one will require probably manual intervention though so it may take a little while. I hope you are right though.

Let us know how you get on.
