Current F Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

How did you book the spa? At the lounge on arrival or are the first hosts back doing the call around prior?
Not doing calls AFAIK. At least not last time I was out in F. Email the day before advising to book on arrival.
Iā€™m only in J today. The appointment was proactively offered to me when I got the the front desk of the Flounge.
He must have read my mind or thought I was in need of a bit of beautification šŸ˜‚

We didn't even get offered on arrival.

Can confirm that in my past two visits, spa treatments were offered proactively by the reception desk. Last week they were even happy to squeeze me in with less than 3 minutes before the treatment start time.

Iā€™ve never been been offered a spa treatment! I must always look a $mil šŸ˜³

TBH, Iā€™ve never asked eitherā€¦

Thanks. Will be interested to see whether Iā€™m offered on my trip next month. Though I am also hoping that the upgrade fairies come through for me

Wonder if you could order three seperate shots, espresso, vodka and kahlua. Deconstructed coughtail to mix at your leisureā€¦

Server wasnā€™t keen to serve two seperate vodka/kahlua shots, however was happy to serve them pre-mixed on ice. šŸ™„šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

007 wouldnā€™t have been happyā€¦stirred, not shaken. Did the job though. Spare glass to siphon off the ice.

Just need to order the vodka and Kahlua in a martini glass next time.

Currently in the lounge. Menu same as up thread. Have enjoyed a decent meal of the duck salad, guo bao and then the burger. Champagne is Pommeray and piper. Still not making coughtails other than whatā€™s on the menu (despite having all the ingredients for a negroni šŸ˜”). They were happy to make a mixer (e.g. G&T).

Was offered spa appointment on arrival which I gladly took. Am flying F so not sure whether I would have been offered one or not. Can confirm still no F host call the day prior.

Probably a first world problem and niche issue, but I always wondered Qantasā€˜ in my view terrible taste in beer offerings. It seems that they canā€˜t even offer some decent craft beers from micro breweries in the F Lounge. In comparison, CX had even HK Craft Beer stocked in the J lounges back in the days (and I drank a lot of them)!
So coming back to this - finally back in the SYD J lounge (back in May when I was on EK414 it was already closed), and it seems that they have amended the beer menu a bit compared to pre-COVID. There is Little Creates Rogers now which is not cheap in retail and also a pretty good beer in my view, so very happy. I assume that the SYD F lounge would have it as well. The J menu for food is appalling though - I stay with beers and hope catering is loaded on QF1.

Spring F menu from SYD, from last week
(I think there's some drink changes... slightly more coughtails? but otherwise nearly identical to previous posting)

+ too many years of Neil Perry special menu for November

Yes, Iā€™ve had the same response in the Syd lounge. And given I could see they had the ingredients required was a little annoyed.

Slight OT, however this was one of the points of feedback I provided in a recent survey and the particular question was around lounge experience / service. Not sure whether it would change anything though!
I asked for one at breakfast time in the LAX FLounge. I'm no longer exactly sure what the response was, but I recall the server pointing to the menu, and I ordered a mimosa. I still had to fly LAX-DFW-MSY in Y, so didn't want to drink too much, but I was coming in from BNE in Y.

On my way home, I was able to get a Cosmopolitan, which wasn't on the menu. Shrug.

I kid you not, but my first visit back after my post above and I was asked this morning if I ā€œwould like a complementary spa treatment?ā€. Somewhat surprised i said I probably wouldnā€™t have time. Turns out my flight is delayedā€¦.
