Hi

Just wondering the latest Meal Service times for Business Class?

Anyone have experience on the 5.05pm Adelaide - Melb in particular? as this is first flight of a few over next few days.

Thanks again for your help

THere's not a lot of time to serve anything from ADL to MEL. U'll have a choice - soup, cheese box or a chicken salad - my prediction.

You should get a meal, it will just come out straight after take off.
I had a beautiful vegetarian ravioli last week on a SYD-MEL flight at 6:00pm last week.

Thanks, am debating between the 4.05pm and the 5.05pm, if dinner is offered on the 5.05pm will go that otherwise the 4.05.

As I need to book in the next hour any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I can't confirm it will be served at 5, although last I heard I'm pretty sure dinner service lasted 5-7 or there abouts.
If you are flying on a weekday, there will be a hot dinner in the lounge also although not served before 5.

What hot food is served in the lounge now for dinner? and do you know till what time?

I'm a vegetarian, so unfortunately my lounge options can be somewhat limited at dinner time although I've had great lentil dishes and pizzas etc. I know they have made some recent lounge menu changes which friends have raved about including thai curries etc. My partner was very impressed by the chicken dish he got for dinner last week ( funny when the guest gets a better meal than the gold) haha.

Dinner starts about 5 and I assume ends about 7, although I can't confirm this. :) Dinner is definitely better than the lunch options we get.

This was in another thread, but I can't remember which one. The hours are the departure times. In my experience this is accurate; Virgin seems to avoid flying Adelaide-Melbourne at lunch time!

0300 - 0829 Breakfast
0830 - 1159 Snack
1200 - 1330 Lunch
1331 - 1759 Snack
1800 - 1959 Dinner
2000 - 0259 Snack

I was in the MEL VAd the lounge a few weeks ago, a Sat evening, 6pm for a 7.10pm dep, yep, you guessed it, toasted sangers, and my prediction is that it will be it again.
Thats (DIY toasted sangers) is the cert, other things are a hit and miss.

I've noticed this recently also, It seems they just do the real dinner service on weekdays which is starting to really annoy me... Obviously not as many business travellers are going on weekends but we still pay the same price and for the same service. I truly believe that I should have the same experience and level of service at 6pm on A Sunday coming home from a weekend away, that I get at 6pm on Wednesday coming home from a business trip...

They have starting a major redo of their lounge catering so maybe something we should suggest....
