If this is answered somewhere else, please direct me there:
  • I have return flights to South America at the end of the year, flights between Australia and Auckland are on QF operated / coded flights, and from AKL onwards and back are LA operated / coded
  • How do I have the QF trans-Tasman flights credited to QFF and the other LA flights credited to a program where they will help me with status (like DL or VS)?
  • If this is possible, can it be done at check-in or does it need to be updated at the lounge in Auckland?
I'm trying to avoid the LA flights defaulting to QFF where they will earn points but not count towards status.

Thanks AFF

A good TA can do this for you assuming the flights were booked by one.

You can have every individual flight on a ticket crediting to different FF programs.

The best (read safest) approach I find is after taking the first (QF) sectors contact whoever ticketed your flights (airline or travel agent) and have them to l completely remove your QFFF number from the booking. Then add the DL or VS number when checking in for the LA flights.

Thank you, I gave the Flight Centre TA both my QF and DL numbers, but all the flights are showing on my booking on the QF app. Should that happen if they allocated the LA flights to the DL FF number?

The flights are straight return flights to Brazil. I only check in when I leave Australia and leave Brazil. The stop in Auckland is only a couple of hours transit each way. By booking the LA legs using the LA code rather than the QF codeshare, the flight price came down by a quarter. I should bank that saving, but don't want to miss out on the LA flights counting to my DL MM count. I may try at the lounge in Auckland each time?

This is far above the capabilities of a Flight Centre TA sadly.

You mentioned it was booked by FC .... Unless you have a VERY good agent, they probably do not how to segment relate your FFN to the applicable flight

I would recommend having no FF number in the booking and claim each segment separately after travel .. will avoid any issues.

Thank you - I don't think the agent who booked the ticket would know that but there is one more experienced agent at the branch whom I have used before who may know how to "segment relate my FFN to the applicable flight", otherwise I will try your second approach.

I had a revenue QF ticket that included a HA segment, I managed to credit QF to QF and HA to VA just using the respective websites.

No, it would make sense for all the flights to show on QF if part of the same PNR (booking).

What you should be checking to confirm is that the DL PNR shows the FF# in the DL system (and potentially you could add it there).

(Fright Centre should have provided the DL PNR).

In the worst case, you may need to ask the the number to be changed at AKL in both directions if produced BP's don't have them when you check in.
