Just booked a MH flight for a relative of mine using my credit card, and the e-ticket tells me that MH may require a photocopy of the credit card used and ID of the CC holder.

I don't recall this being actively policed last time I flew MH, which was quite a while ago... do they actively police this? I would assume they'd accept a copy of my card with the middle numbers blurred out, but if anyone knows otherwise...

Its a common request written into booking terms in Indonesia for flight bookings, but I have never been asked. I think I recall asking at checkin about that,or phoning up, and was told that being a foreigner, it doesnt matter.

For a local travelling outbound, i would most definitey be complying with their request for photocopies of the CC and ID, and if you want to blur out some number, should be fine, they cant see the whole credit card number in their booking system either.

Etihad did in Jakarta... Although they were happy if I could tell them the number so they could enter it in the system.

As I got a replacement card a few months earlier, I could not find the old card number saved in Chrome.

Called Amex and they could not help me after hours and so I had to show the check-in staff the statement with the flight booking.

They called Abu-Dhabi to get special permission to let me on and circumvent the control in the check-in system, so delayed my check-in by 30-45 mins.

Just better be safe than sorry :)
