Not that the bathroom is the best place to join however we all are aware of stories of those that have joined using the lavatory.

Now with the downsizing of toilets on planes you would need to be a contortionist and a gymnast :D

Boeing is making the toilets smaller to fit more seats on planes

For the record I have never utilised the bathroom for this purpose......

The best place to complete "membership and induction formalities" was on the PanAm SPs from SYD-LAX in the early 80s: rear cabin was usually only 1/4 full and one could relax(?) across the four middle seats.

I firmly believe if one can successfully change a dirty nappy in a plane bathroom, then one could probably manage to do most things in there.
For the record, I have done the former, not the other

I wonder how people on wheelchair transfer themselves on and off the toilet.

On the the Qantas A380! They do have a disabled toilet of sorts. It opens the door inside(internal) making both the two singles into one larger space.

What do you think people do in The Residence on EY's A380?

The mid-cabin toilets on twin aisle aircraft usually have doors that turn two loos into one.

Thanks. My mum is confined to a wheelchair and she doesn't travel anymore. I was just thinking how would she get on and off the toilet. I have never noticed the two loos/doors thingy.

I would be willing to bet the mile high club is more alive than ever before, since air travel is more affordable than ever before.
Sure not every lav is appropriately sized for two but there is also an element of naughty which would encourage people to try it, even if it wasn't comfortable.

Its probably on the bucket list at some point but not yet... I also wonder if doing the act in Denver, the mile high city, also counted for this (or other similarly lofty locations)???

I flew in J on an Asiana A380 ICN-LAX a few years back and at the front of the top deck there was a toilet/bathroom on one side that was huge...

I remember thinking at the time that that would be a roomy area for joining the club with less danger of pulling something...

Having witnessed the Y seat in front of me bouncing away in the middle of the night on a Qantas 747, I don't think toilet size is an issue.

I wanted to grab the seat back and help them along while shouting "ride 'em cowgirl!" but SWMBO wouldn't let me. :(

anyone who's been in an underground mine, might know the mile under club is much more exclusive...or so I've heard
