Cosgrove resigns from QF Board

With his recent appointment Peter Cosgrove has resigned from the QF board could this be an opportunity to get an aviation person on the board with experience and drive?

The rumour is that Gary Toomeys resignation from Jet was so he could replace General Cosgrove on the QF board. This appointment hasn't exactly been kept a secret.

From what you hear Gen Cosgrove is an all round good person, but when he said today:

"I think your responsibility is to shine light but not generate heat … you're not a participant in the political process.''


I thought he was talking for a moment about his time on the QF Board.

Cosgrove didn't have the aviation background but his knowledge was outstanding - from someone who knows his contributions at board level, the guy knew his stuff. He wasn't a 'mouthpiece' on the board, he did have a great interest in the airline industry and aircraft. He will be missed from the board that is for sure
