Not at the supermarkets I frequent. And at Costco, when don't shoppers here have full trollies?

I think it is more that hand sanitiser has a run on.

Maybe not, but the solidarity and generosity of the bushfires has descended into anarchy in the covid 19 supermarket aisles.

I think the main difference is that it is easy to be generous and benevolent when our life essentially remains the same. Nobody's life is the same now hence the change in behaviour.

Given the dictionary meaning of "anarchy", I hardly think we are close to that, yet.

What happens over coming months is not yet known, but some really bad scenarios are definitely a possibility if the population becomes really panicked. Probably why several states have enacted their emergency powers from today.

Some guy bought all the sanitiser in 3 states then tried to jack up the prices on Amazon and ebay for profit. Amazon and ebay shut him down and out.

Then the idiot went to the media. Boo hoo me, I have $17K in stock I can't sell for triple the price and now his family is getting death threats.

Someone on twitter was able to work out where he was storing it all, from the photo they published in the New York Times article, and the state AG department raided his storage unit and confiscated the lot

Colleague at work mused about temporarily shutting down Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Snap etc to stop the spread of panic / rubbish information. Quite interesting. Argued would slow panic buying amongst other things.

And two little old ladies can only buy 1 each. I hope the guy loses his stock but so much going to waste isn't a good outcome either. Glad that Amazon picked it up. Perfect.

A run on chicken necks started last weekend.

So the 7am shop for seniors is not really working at all Woollies.According to SIL in Sydney her local had no toot paper or other paper products.Some mince was being put out.

How much of the toot paper is being sent overseas.Surely Australians should have stockpiled enough by now.

Went to Aldi this morning and OMG, never seen so many people. freezers empty, no paper, but they did have pallets of plain flour and lots of bread and only 1/2 empty pasta shelves.

Last evening the local woollies had no eggs and no bread (of any kind).

At least Aldi had full shelves of eggs. That's all I needed, 1 doz eggs.
