Threaten to wear a T shirt with Griselda's picture on during all future flights?

EH

or Alan's :).

But really this confusing frustrating debacle for many must also be costing Q a lot of dosh

This is one of those occasions where mere words on a screen aren't conveying the nuances. I have no idea what either of you mean by these comments! There are multiple possibilities. As Pauline Hanson once said, please explain?
I thought it was quite clear. You are just trying to get me in trouble.

People are gloating in the other thread how cheaply they are getting SCs via Any Seat awards. No point me explaining further as all that is going to achieve is people lining up to jump down my throat.

Here is the lunch video QF WP promised where you can hear the news from the source!

I was a little worried when I first saw this video go up, but I see the worst I do is take a sip of wine...

You really are a Princess! ;)

I wonder how many times the post would have been quoted if I had posted what you posted. I hope you continue to have luck with the Any Seat awards you want to book.

Me too :D
But if I don't I will move on and continue playing the game ;)

Can you collect BAEC Avios points on MASAs? Just wondering. QF have tipped me over the edge with their constant enhancements so looking at other options and ways to burn the rest of my points. Especially with the banks starting to devalue Amex points from 1.5 to 1.25 (e.g. CBA - won't be long for the others). I looked at this page Executive Club - Our oneworld airline partners - British Airways and it appears U for Uniform is not in that table, but just wanted to check. Thanks!

Apologies, no smoke or mirrors intended. IMHO, QF think that it is not in their best interests to have cheap as chip ASA's easily accessible, period. There have been various posts detailing somewhat IMO suboptimal booking attempts.
This is exactly what QF wants. As I stated previously this is the game that QF is playing and we are the pawns.
Time for a new move.

+1
Leaving loyalty aside, it isn't in their financial interest, and bean counters have difficulty putting a $$ value on loyalty.

Cheers skip

Why not remove classics as well then...? My opinion is that they have no idea what they are doing in regard to loyalty...

The sky is not falling yet friends. Keep booking those ASA's :)

Classic awards need to remain otherwise the frequent flyer program will fall over.

And sorry to disappoint some people but the difference between classic award and Any Seat awards earning SCs and QFF points is not $10-$15 surcharge like a Jetstar Plus Bundle.

When we went to HNL last year the JQ plus bundle was about $700 pp!

Today I start my trip to New Zealand which I booked on QF Classic points where because of the short notice puts me thru MEL to SYD in J and stop. Then it is Emirates in first to Auckland on Monday. I was quoted hundreds of thousands for Any Seat so Classic is fine.
Our AFL grand final run out of Perth was about 750k for 2 on Any Seat for the one way so again I went Classic thru Brisbane in J to save 650k of QF points.
Any Seat by phone has not produced anything for me on the hard bookings.

GGGRRRRRRRR!

But what about all these people saying that they had such a wonderful experience with the booking process and can't see what the fuss is about? :p

The booking process was quick and effortless, no mention of a fee until I noticed my award wallet weekly summary this morning showing a 19500 point QFF drop, when I knew it was only 16k I should have spent.

Yes. You let down your guard thinking it's all going well and then BANG, the CSR that seemed to know what she/he was doing, got you in the end.

Did you confirm that no fee was payable when booking the xASA...?

Something like: There should be no telephone assistance fee for that booking since it can not be done online... and as per the Qantas email "Please note that from 26 June 2013 Any Seat Award bookings made in reservation classes X, Z, U or P cannot be made online at qantas.com. "

In my case, I was initially cut down for saying that sort of thing. Very poor experience although I got there in the end.
