Would metal buttons on clothing pose a problem ?
Metal is no problem. It is now my preferred mode of going through security since my knee replacement. The metal has no effect unlike the usual security screening.
So in the USA I ask for the body scanner so that my pre check status actually means something.Unfortunately the civil liberties groups in the US activities have slowed the introduction and on every occasion I did have to ask for the scanner.Going through normal security means I will have a pat down and wanding every time.
Is anyone still trying to fight this cough?
I've been contacting the party leaders about it at least once a month since the bill was tabled and all public comments ignored before forcing it through.
Still waiting on a reply from DIT about people being medically unable to use them.
Meh, free X-Ray, I'm in...
...I am interested-who is medically unable to use them?
PS-there are a couple of reasons but several illogical reasons in the public domain.
...people unable to assume and hold the position for the amount of time required. people for whom the machine assumes one thing when the reality is something else. etc
regardless, what pisses me off the most about this is that all through the trial and public consultation, an opt out option was promised. The entire thing was moving slowly and was on the back burner. Then the (now) former transport minster got a visit from the (now) former TSA head. Suddenly, it's being tabled in parliament with no opt out and they attempt to ram it through as quickly as possible.
It goes to both house and senate transport committees who seek public comment. EVERY SINGLE public comment said that an opt out was required. Both committees stated in their report recommendations that the opt out should be returned as an option. Both reports and every public comment was ignored. By both major parties.
As a result, neither major party deserves my vote any longer.
They were never planning to use backscatter in australia.Opt out was only relevant when they were planning to use X-rays. They changed that and there is no need for an opt out.
They were never planning to use backscatter in australia.
They decided that a frisk search for opting out wouldn't be acceptable, despite what everyone said about it. The simple fact is that the government changed their minds at the last minute for no reason and completely ignored everything the people they work for said.
What is it like to go through one in Australia ?
