Combining two bookings for two groups

My brother and his wife will depart ADL-MEL-HKG and I wish to Book only the MEL-HKG leg,

Is there a way that I can combine the flights so that if their ADL - MEL flight gets delayed/canceled resulting in missed connection/ rebooking of MEL-HKG then I also get rebooked on the new flight?

I don't want to travel alone from MEL-HKG so worry if I book from MEL-ADL there is a chance (Although slight) that I would have to travel MEL - HKG alone

I don't think this is possible. Why don't you have your brother and his wife come to Melbourne a day early and spend the night with you? Then you could all go to the airport together for the flight to Hong Kong.
