Combining J classic awards

Searching the Qantas site on a date I want I cannot find 2 J class Sydney to London.
However I can find 2 Sydney to Dubai and 2 Dubai to London that link up. (Very annoying that Qantas doesnt show this as possible Sydney to London)

So my question is if I ring up will they book this as one trip for me?

Cash payment on Syd - LHR single booking is 431 AUD and 128k points.
Separately 146k points and roughly the same cash payment.

yeah - me too! I was looking at a route that was just a couple miles under the threshold in an award (a couple miles more and it would have taken me to the next zone). The QFFF search engine refused to list connecting flights (nothing available) but individual sectors were available. A multi-city search showed the combined options, but once I completed the booking and proceeded to 'pay' it hit an error and refused ticketing. I call centre booked it and waived the fee.

Interestingly, other connections which were well within the zone all listed and were bookable. It felt at the time that this was a deliberate attempt to not provide the award at the stated price!
