I didn't realise the STAN cards are 5 limit.
No matter, 5 covers a years worth - the sports.
And next Stan gift card offer will roll around again.
You can buy five per day, not five in total.

Believe it or not but as far the bonus points are concerned, I am 99% sure the five per day limit isn't even enforced, only the overall 50,000 points limit. My understanding is that they only started adding the extra line about five per day to the 20x points offers in Dec 2024 because that's the general limit at Coles.

However, I wouldn't risk it because unlike Woolworths, Coles' checkouts don't tell you if you earned the points before you pay and if they don't automatically credit Flybuys customer support are notoriously unforgiving.

Cheers for that info. Plus no real need for more than 5 per day anyway

What is "tampered "? Have they been opened then glued back? Has the pin been scratched and re-covered? By opening before you buy, what are you looking for?

Scammers take unactivated gift cards from the shelves, record and then damage the sensitive details, glue them back together and then place them back in stores so that when someone purchases the gift card only the scammer can use it.

The vast majority of tampering we see these days affects only Apple and prepaid Visa/Mastercard gift cards. Technically any physical gift card could be tampered with but those are the main ones to worry about. TCN gift cards were a big target last year (largely because of a since-fixed vulnerability on the TCN website) but thankfully they seem to have lost favour with scammers.

With Apple gift cards you should always open them up before you pay to check for scratched off or modified characters in the redemption code. With the Visa/Mastercard gift cards at Coles and Woolworths it's a little bit more tricky since you need to scan them at the checkout first and then open them up (but before you pay) so that you can look for scratched off digits in the card number and security code. It's important to do this because from the outside it can be impossible to identify a tampered gift card.
