Coles gift card offers

That's keen...im still in bed!
Over 2 days, I managed to buy 5 x $100 GCs for all 4 of the FB accounts I manage :)

Few things I learnt / observed from this and previous promos:
1. Much easier to pay at a manned checkout then aelf checkout as the attendant had to keep coming to authorise the transaction
2. Some stores (wrongly) enforce the 5 cards per day rule.
3. Need to check for non obvious tampering where 4 numbers and the CVV are scratched off the card (reported on Ozbargain)
4. The purples ard much more popular than the yellows.
5. One of the numbers on the purple card in the 3rd bank of numbers is really hard for my eyes to read...have to hold the card to the light at a certain angle or take a photo and enlarge.
6. Go early....by the 2nd day the cards esp. the purples are very scarce.
7. The ATO still gobbles them up fee free.
8. Happy hunting and be aware of "nasty" Coles staff.

First time ever, but I was told I was banned from buying more gift cards for that day (had only bought 5). I laughed and went back an hour later after shift change.

Has anyone received the bonus points yet? As I purchased my card two days ago and no bonus points yet? Usually they clear overnight.
That's not necessarily usual, although it may have more historically been the case that they posted overnight. With more recent promotions things have changed.

But, no bonus points for me yet. Base points only.

I don't even get base points overnight. It usually takes 2 days. (I suppose the base points may have posted but they don't show up on the transaction history.)
As for the 5 card limit, it was enforced on me, but it was a pleasant surprise to find some $100 cards at my local Coles as this never happens with the promos. So I am fine with it. I didn't get a chance to freeze any before the promo started.

I managed 2 lots of 5x$100 cards.
Popped into 2 stores in Melbourne's south.
Was little surprised, got lucky.

1 store hanging on gift card area while other store had to ask manager, said all behind desk, but I seemingly took last 5.

9. If there is no purple cards left on the rack, ask the friendly Coles staff if there are any stored in the service area cupboards. On a few occasions (including this week) , they’ve produced a new box of purple cards, when there were none left in the gift card rack.

Why do the Coles staff not enforce the 5 cards per person rule (or threaten to ban you or make up coughe excuses etc) for other gift cards (that have the same T&C's and earn just as many FB points) as vehemently as they do for these cards?

I've never been prevented or even questioned when getting 5 x TCN cards on more than one FB account. Woolies don't care either. I shouldn't be made to feel like a criminal or have to resort to Mission Impossible tactics because some ill-informed nitwit thinks I'm part of some international crime game scamming other nitwits.

The nitwit in question sits upstairs. The poor checkout staff are frightened into submission on this point.

I purchased 2 x 5 on Wednesday evening. It was late, I was exhausted, and I had already been to two stores which didn't have purple cards left. I really couldn't be bothered hiding 5 to return the following day so I went fully prepared to fight my way out the door with 5 cards on each account.

The 20 year old who was manning the registers said he's not allowed to sell more than 5 to the same person in one day because he would get in trouble and could lose his job. The look on my face seemed to swing his sympathy and he did let me do it but he said multiple times please don't tell anyone, I could get in so much trouble, please promise me you aren't being scammed.

(BTW who says yes to that anyway??!! If you knew you were being scammed you wouldn't be buying the cards. 🤦‍♀️)

9a. Or rummage around the storage area behind the display yourself (disclaimer: acceptance of this, or otherwise, varies from store to store).

Store manager is more than likely just enforcing policy set by an overpaid nervous Nellie in the Hawthorne East HQ, same policy was in place when I worked at Coles Express, there was even a training module staff had to do. Drove me nuts almost as much as the compulsory complimentary sell routine that was meant to happen with each sale, and don’t get me started with the red kite weeks that seemed to happen almost every month!

Yes the nitwit is not always at the coal face but that's no less annoying from the customer's POV. Thankfully we have unfair dismissal laws in Australia, which in your case the concept of also appears to escaped the grasp of the higher up nitwits.
