As an aside, I've found the CGMCs as widely accepted as previously
..and using a Velocity Amex to buy them with...
permits you to earn extra VFF point at locations that either don't accept AMEX or have a surcharge for its use.

If you can get hold of the $50 Celebrations cards, the current deal ending tomorrow, gives you double the value at 2000 pts for a $50 card. Usable at Officeworks.

Well that is disappointing re the Celebrations $50 card!
I have settled for ultimate eats, but additional disappointment that I couldn't pricematch at OW for $38 (and maybe even paid on the Celebrations OW gift card)

When you guys buy these types of cards (ie which don't require Flybuys card to be scanned) do you scan your card? Just wondering how it affects their spending algorithm for bonus points offers.

Some say it doesn't, but definitely does for me. Currently on a $290 spend for my own account (gift card spend prior), and the other family members are all on $50 for the 4 week offers.

It does have an impact, that's why you should have more than 1 flybuys account.
Not sure this can be said with any certainty. I have put tens of thousands of dollars worth of gift Mastercards through my flybuys account every time they run the 10% discount promo and have seen no change to my offers whatsoever. Other people have had a different experience.
Agree on having multiple accounts though. No downside to that.

Yeah some people think just because it applies to them, it's a blanket rule and think it's gospel and won't listen
I have more than 1 acc, have put through heaps on some acc for gift cards over the last 12 momths and the min spend didn't change
However a few years ago I bought a different type of gift cards and the minimum spend for those accounts went up. So maybe it's gift card type dependant
