Coles gift card offers

Visited the store today and they had only 3x $50 Coles MasterCard gift cards. Knowing that they'd most likely be gone by the time I finish work tomorrow arvo I may or may not have stashed one in a fridge..
Scoped out 2 stores today. One of them had zero Coles MasterCards. The other had at least 30 $50 cards. Know which one I'll be going back to tomorrow :)

I asked the kind lady at the self serve checkout if they were getting any eBay cards during last weeks promo and she said that the Coles store doesn’t actually have anything to do with restocking the cards and that an external company come in at random and do this. Guess it explains why perhaps the busier stores always seem to have more variety.

Slightly off topic but if I’ve forgotten to scan the flybuys barcode on a large shop, can I go back to the same store and have it added a day later?

Yes, I was aware of this. Have run into the person doing it and learnt something that you might find useful. In the normal display stand for the gift cards it opens up at the top and there is a stock of different cards inside. Always worth having a look inside if you can't find what you are looking for :)

Yes.

Can also do it by contacting Flybuys via their Facebook site.

Just a heads up on my buying experience with the $50 Coles MasterCard offer today.

Went to a regular checkout to avoid potential problems and encountered several difficulties. Cards wouldn't activate and the staff member refused to scan the flybuys card as they insisted you couldn't earn flybuys buying gift cards!

Eventually took the problem to the service desk and they had to try 4 different cards to get one to activate. Staff were quite unhelpful and tried to convince me that when the card previously did not activate it would still be linked to my flybuys purchase. Rubbish!

Check your dockets carefully and do not leave the store until you're satisfied that everything that should happen has happened!

Don't know if it's related to these serious of stuff ups by Coles, but I have been awarded multiple lots of the 2000 bonus points event though I only purchased 1 card.

Thats irritating timing. I still want to get another 19 CGMCs for targetted offer. Will be harder to find them in my Local Champ store

If my local store has no stock of a card I'm after, I usually send feedback via the Coles website requesting more stock for that specific store.
In my experience this has always seen more stock arrive relatively quickly.
I have even received calls directly from the store to let me know when new stock has arrived.

They did restock so I was able to fill all the offers.
Unfortunately the checkout assistant scanned one card twice. I'd seen her mix them up but she wasn't having any of it. It wasn't possible to refund that evening and it took about 15 minutes of sorting out the following day with the appropriate supervisor.
