Hi,

Can someone help me understand code share flights. I am due to return from Brisbane to Sydney on QF374 which is a Japan Airlines flight who I think are not part of the OneWorld group.

Because I have a QF flight number on my ticket does this still entitle me to status credits and the minimum 1,000 FF points. Or is this the same as flying Jetstar or AO with a QF flight number on the ticket and you get not status credits or FF points?

Appreciate any help.

In this case it is irrelevant that it's a codeshare with JAL because it is operated by QF and because you are booked with a QF flight number, you get the points and status credits.

If it was operated by JAL and you had a QF flight number, you would still get points and SC.

If you were on a QF operated flight with a JAL flight number, you wouldn't.

QF374 is operated by JAL and carries both JL and QF flight nunbers. JohnK stated he has booked the QF code so he gets all the usual QF status credits and points as per any other QF flight number between the same origin and destination, as well as lounge access if he is a Qantas Club member or Gold or Platinum FF member.

The only restriction about it not being a OneWorld operated flight is that he cannot take it as part of a OneWorld Explorer fare.
