Can they be any thing except clear ziplock bags ?
Just reading an article on travel accessories and it.showed a clear plastic bag for liquids which wasnt the old Glad Ziploc bags .
Have to say I haven't looked at other people's liquids bag holders

Do they winge about other things in it?

I've always just used one that is at security (at least the did have them at BNE the last time I wad there). CNS used to use them but don't seem to bother these days.

I carry some essential first aid and toiletries in a case that might be OK, but it has a lot of non-gel cough in there as well.View attachment 150563

Some times, if I remember, I put some band aids/ plasters in the cases. I normally fold my eye shades around them.

Anyone used these bags through USA?

I have and it is the reason purchased the pouch in the first place as it is TSA approved. I have looked through my records and I did purchase through the Amazon US site.

I've had no issues with this bag with travel through the US and elsewhere. It meets the specifications for size. Sometimes they take out the QV wash or lotion for checking as it's a white liquid. The only time I had a problem was when I put in an old toothpaste tube that was nearly empty and I had rolled it up. As it could have held more than the limit of 100ml if it was full, I had to take it out and bin it.View attachment 150570

Although the pouch is a little different from yours to look at they are basically the same size and shape.

In my experience and that it is all it is, so no expert opinion. In the US, TSA staff are used to a certain size clear bag and as long as it fits within the visual size, contains clear liquids and can be seen through little consideration is given to what is in it. Every country, port and security operator has their nuances when it come to the rules.

I've never used a ziplock bag despite travelling regularly with small liquids or gels Just keep them in my briefcase or even more commonly in an amenity kit style bag. Not once has security anywhere I've travelled called me out or raised a fuss.

I bought this 'washbag' last year and had no trouble taking my liquids etc. in it through MEL, SIN or LHR. I did put the required things in an airport bag within it but never had to pull that out separately, and I had ample room for a small hairbrush and comb as well.
