Classic reward upgrades on Qantas flights

Hi All,

I was hoping you could assist me with an upgrade query.

I am flying from MEL to LAX next week and have put in for an upgrade from economy to business class. I understand the upgrades re done on membership level etc. I am bronze and have requested an upgrade. My dad is platinum. If i request to 'upgrade a family member' through his account and then transfer him the points, does this request go through as platinum (his level) or bronze (my level).
