Classic Reward Update Frequency

Hi,

Would anyone know the frequency that Qantas release Classic reward seats on international flights?

To add a little context here; If I'm looking to fly in a specific month yet the current available flights are woeful (3/4 stops, 45 hours to Europe) is there any chance that Qantas would release more flights/classic seats in this window?

Qantas usually releases Q flights out about a year in advance. Emirates on Qantas load up about a month later. CX flights on Qantas seem to pop up much more frequently and closer to departure date.

If you see something that works reasonably maybe you should grab it and wear the change fee later.

If seats are to be release at the limit (and they sometimes are, although not as much as used to be the case), then that occurs midnight UTC 353 days in advance.

You did not indicate what your status is. If you are bronze you won't see any QF availability for "popular international routes" until around 60 days after the 353 days. Those with status get first dibs.
A flight to LHR on QF metal without status is hard to come by. From experience CX can release more seats after their usual 360 days but don't count on it.

Thanks for the info guys. I've been able to lock in a reasonable flight out to the UK (QF1) but no return as yet. We're about 360 days away from the return date now so I'll hang in there and hope some fresh seats pop up. I'm a lowly bronze so this may take a little longer (thanks flapper).

On a side note, I scored the outbound seats for 60,000 each. Should I expect a variation between carriers EK, CX?

The partner carriers are usually more points than QF and EK. For example in J from HKG - ADL last year CX was 5000 points more than QF, but this was before the enhancement of points required so might be more now as I haven't booked anything recently.

I believe EK is the same at QF, but you pay extra for other partners. Maybe 75,000 for an economy reward.

This works out to be 10am in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, or 11am in Sydney+Melbourne during DST months.

If I'm relying on that date, I find the best strategy to be loading up the search box with all my parameters in it (including the future date - even if I need to type it), and then clicking search the moment the clock hits 10am. Worked recently for scoring CX business class from Paris to AU!
