How long should I wait before contacting QF to ask where the ticket is for a classic reward flight that I booked yesterday? Fees have landed on my amex and booking in my app straight away but 24 hours later points not debited and ticket not issued.

For a domestic QF flight? Doesn't really matter as your seat is 'safe' and there's no risk you won't get your award seat.

If it's for international ticket including any flights not operated by Qantas, you should probably allow 24-72 hours before ringing up to get it pushed along. Some airlines will autocancel seats if they haven't been ticketed in time.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

QF J BNE-CHC. Not until next Feb so no panic. I just don’t remember having seen a delay. Thanks for the timeframes

You have plenty of time to sort, but this could drag on. I had domestic flights in March that I chased up every week. The eTicket wast issued until a week before the first flight. Very annoying to have on your mind for months.

I booked several Classic Awards over the past month or so and all but one were ticketed immediately. The one that didn’t ticket was a Trans Tasman award. After 2 days I pinged the VIP service team and they were able to get it issued.
I believe that there is something called “the far queue” and if your Award ends up there for ticketing you would be advised to call/ email and get it done.
Not sure what it is that triggers the booking ending up there but I know that it does sometimes happen.

Without an e-ticket, I pretty much have nothing. More important with carriers other than QF, as the seats may well be lost, but not the case with your booking.
