Yestarday there was availability in J and F between BKK-DXB, and HKG-DXB direct and that is also gone (in any date). Still no direct DXB-ADL in Classic in any classes yet.

In the early hours of Mar 31 there was lots of availability in J PER-LHR-PER using EK and/or QF. Now there is next to none. Even in Jan/Feb/Mar ALL EK flights to DXB are economy only. I have also experienced the "there one minute gone the next" on the QFF booking engine, so I would say there are some teething problems that need sorting out. Hope so, or I am going to be one very unhappy FF, as the only alternatives we have are to use CX with higher point redemptions, or fly to Melbourne or Sydney, again at a higher point redemption, and lots of extra hours wasted.

I didn't know CX cost more points - where is the chart saying which airlines cost extra?

Thanks.
Dale.

CX routing is via HKG and will be a combination of Partner Award zone 5 plus a zone 7 award, totaling 85,000 QFF points each way with a stopover in HKG or 75,000 without a stopover (as a single Zone 10 award). using EK/QF via DXB (no stopover) would be 56,000 QFF points each way for a classic award. Or it could be done as a Zone 6 OneWorld award (one-way via HKG) for 100,000 QFF points or 140,000 return. The OneWorld award will require travel on two OneWorld airlines (CX, BA for example). These options will likely also require the assisted booking fee to be added.

Paging simongr!

Cheers! Email sent to the P1 team asking them to sort it out. I couldn't see any availability DXB-LCA_DXB on EK - just via the coughhole that is AMM on RJ - who I am reluctant to ever fly again and would not put my wife and son on board them.

No issues with posting other blogs - I found the read quite strange though... For me safety is a concern flying RJ given my experience of the cabin crew taking photos with pax's iphone whilst on taxi...

Wow there are benefits of the QF/EK link-up. I did some dummy Y bookings for March 2014 and found SYD-DXB-CDG (all EK) for 64000pts and $157.59. If you use QF for SYD-DXB it increases the taxes to $471.39.
SYD-DXB-IST comes out at 56000pts and $156.39 (all EK) but charges increase to $472.69 if you use QF to DXB. This is also quite a saving compared to SYD-LHR-IST on BA at 75000pts and $550.59.
Perhaps I will have to learn to love DXB after all!
