Hi everyone,
I did ask this elsewhere but didn't get a response( I probably didn't make sense!)
But I need to book these flights today.
We currently have SYD-LAX booked in J for next year, I want to book JFK-CDG today as part of a RTW, however the return flight is still to far in advance so can't change the fare to a 280k RTW yet.

So if i book the JFK-CDG portion today is it possible to then change two single flights ie SYD-lax and JFK-CDG into a 280k RTW when the other flights are released (ie Rome-SYd)??
Thanks for your help

Our Reservations team would be happy to discuss your options. They're available 24/7 on 131313 so you can call at a time that suits you.

They did this for me a couple of years ago. I had the Syd-LHR and LHR-JFK booked in f and asked them to convert to a rtw when the Lax to Syd was bookable. No issues. Careful of ROM - Syd though. Not sure of QF code shares on emirates can be used on a ow rtw award.

Yes, it should be possible. I had SYD-LAX classic awards changed to 280K OW awards using the telephone reservations team.
Was a long phone call though to sort out the many flight sectors and re-calculate the fees and taxes ;)

Ok, just to update anyone who may also be wondering.
i called qantas and they confirmed they could only change one flight into a OW RTW, however we can just keep calling and getting flights added (and pay the 3500points) until it tipped over the 280k point limit when it would automatically be converted into a OW RTW.
so I arranged for my friend to call qantas and by the time she did, the flights had gone, however they appeared later today, so I got her on the phone again, it seemed to take ages for them to arrange, anyway, they got them.
problem is there were four seats available, two for my friends and two for my husband and me, by the time she got off the phone, one of our seats had disappeared, so now I don't have a seat:shock:

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks wandersen, we are hoping to use Cathay for the last sector, so hopefully no issues there!

I don't think they are allowed but would love to be corrected as it would open up a lot of options.

Award flights are booked on the primary flight number so that rules out the EK flights.

As I thought, damn :(. Makes OW Awards a little difficult for direct Europe connects from Dubai. OW is a great product however.
