Two 10 hour legs in Emirates business

or

1 leg in Emirates economy and 1 leg in Emirates First class?

Any status?

With the second option would it be the whY or F leg first?

Assuming Y and F legs are also 10 hours, definitely option A too.

I haven't actually flown Emirates Y but I would not hesitate to go with A. I haven't experienced an airline yet where the difference between J -> F makes it so much better than the massive comparative difference between Y -> J that the former becomes a serious consideration over the latter.

Definitely both J. If There is a break between legs, book them on seperate tickets and look to upgrade to F in the weeks before the flights happen.

Would depend on which planes were involved. But likely A, unless the F option is the A380 with a shower. In that case definitively B. The difference between J and F in the Emirates A380 is huge.

A380 on Emirates does.

From what I hear F on the A380 is great. For a shower ideally it'd be nice to have F on the longer leg. Having a shower at 40,000 feet would be a special experience to try once and a good way to use up some of the flight time.

If the Y flight would be a daytime flight, I would take option B. I don't mind sitting in Y for mid-length flights during the day, and EK F is awesome. If the Y flight was a redeye I would probably change my mind.

Despite J/J being the logical option comfort-wise ,I'd do the Y/F option if A380
Y on EK is reasonably tolerable, I've been on EK J but never F and certainly never a shower. Would help if the Y leg was daytime and the first one

Silver QFF, Y first leg, F second leg, both are day flights
Both 777's

Hi all,
Along the same lines as the question above, I am doing a trip SYD-BOSTON. Booking a fair way ahead so I have a few options on how to get to Boston. I am using QF points.

Option 1 - Syd-Dallas on QF in First. Dallas to Boston AA in Economy. Total travel time 26 hours 28 minutes and arrive in Boston 1:30am (as there seems to be limited availability on AA). Positives for this are shorter travel time, negatives, worse departure and arrival times, economy to Boston, no chauffeur pickup.

Option 2 - Syd-Dubai-Boston on Emirates first class. EK419 via Bangkok to Dubai on A380 and then EK237 on the 777 to Boston. Arrive at a reasonable time being 1:50pm but a long travel time of 32h 30m. This would also include chauffeur pickup in Syd and Boston and travel on the 777. Positives for this are better departure time as I still get a full day of work in, better arrival time in Boston (who wants to arrive at 1.30am??). Negatives are longer travel time and an additional stop in Bangkok.

Travel on the way back is AA (economy Boston to Dallas) and QF Business Dallas - Sydney irrespective of which option.

I haven't gone F previously and would appreciate input and suggestions. I am looking the travel in F as an experience and part of the trip so given it's only 6 hours more I am wondering if it worth the experience of traveling on Emirates.

The number of points for each is irrelevant to me (320,000 for the Emirates option vs 316,000 for the QF option).

Appreciate your input, thanks.

If the longer journey time and multiple stops don't bother you then EK all the way, hands down.

Decide to wait a few months to gain more points. I have booked 2 x 1st class legs to Johannesburg then a business class to Cape town (Virgin points). Economy back with QF. All up 220,000 QF points and 26,000 VS points. All up $900 fees
