Okay, so i'm trying to book a Classic Award: DXB-KWI-DXB-PER (all on the same day) - I'll only be in Kuwait for 8 hours. I'm able to enter this into the multi-city search tool and it's found me my flights. However, it says that I'm unable to depart from my city of origin twice (DXB).

This means that I'll have to ring up the bloody QF centre and pay an extra 60 bucks/6000pts (of which I don't have enough) - and to be honest, I'm not real keen on paying 60 bucks because of the incompetency of the booking system.

Even if I separate the itinerary into two bookings (DXB-KWI and KWI-DXB-PER), I'll still have to ring up QF because I'm unable to choose KWI as the city of origin !!!

I know the answer is to ring up the QFF hotline and find out for myself whether they'll waive the telephone fee - but I don't have access to one for at least the next few hours.

I guess the point of this post is;
1) What are the chances of getting the fee waived?
2) Why can I only depart DXB when booking an award ticket and no where else in the Middle East???

Kindest Regards,
Daniel

The first rule is pretty standard. I reckon your best option would be to go with the DXB-KWI + KWI-DXB-PER split and ask them to waive the fee because you can't choose KWI as the origin.

Thanks for your speedy reply. I shall call them up later tonight when I can.

Hmmm ... even booking DXB-KWI on an earlier date, it still shows up with the same error.

Does it have to be DXB on the way back? I can get DXB-KWI-DOH-PER to work...
