I have 2 identical tickets (Day & flights) one is in L, the other is in P.
The taxes for the L ticket are $111.18. Taxes onthe P ticket are $150.56.
The tickets are domestic only. Anyone know why the difference?

Checking for HNL-LAX-BOS r/t

In economy

Tax: US Transportation Tax $19.45
Tax: US Transportation Tax $14.14
Tax: US September 11th Security Fee $10.00
Tax: US Passenger Facility Charge $18.00
Tax: US Flight Segment Tax $14.40
Tax: US Alaska/Hawaii Departure Tax $16.00

In 1st

Tax: US Transportation Tax $36.45
Tax: US Transportation Tax $36.45
Tax: US September 11th Security Fee $10.00
Tax: US Passenger Facility Charge $18.00
Tax: US Flight Segment Tax $14.40
Tax: US Alaska/Hawaii Departure Tax $16.00

Looks like the US Transportation Tax is higher at $72.90 vs $33.59 so an extra USD39.31

I get different figures - $US72.90 in F, vs $US26.05 in Y when I do the sums.

Still, I can't work out why there is a class difference on the (US Transportation Tax). Does appear to be something fairly new though.

-- edit. Doh! It's 7.5% of the base fare, which explains the difference, and seems to have been around for a while. Just havn't noticed it I suppose.
