Citibank - NEVER GIVE UP

As an aside all you learned readers do Citi ever have bonus offers to transfer pts to FF programs?

Not that I've noticed in my ~8 years of constantly holding a Citibank credit card of one sort or another, but I probably wasn't paying close attention prior to 1-2 years ago and might have missed something.

As a new Citi rewards member, I'm wondering if there is any way to verify how many points one earns from any particular purchase. How do I check if I've got 5 points per $1 for an overseas denominated transaction for example?

All I can see in my online account is a total of rewards accrued thus far.

I don't think Citi provide a detailed breakdown of points earned per transaction anywhere - I've never found one anyway, in 8 years of holding various Citi cards. Best you can do is try to check $ spent vs points earned by hand, which shouldn't be too hard assuming you don't have too many overseas transactions.

Closest I have been able to do is using the monthly statement. They split out into standard and bonus points. The additional points for an international transaction (3 points per dollar) appears in the bonus points total.

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep an eye on the Bonus Points column on my Statement. Had points from a Citi Dining Partner that didnt show up in the Bonus points area so they are giving me another 200 points on top of what was missing. So I'll always be checking my points balance.

This thread seems to be most appropriate without making a new one. I applied for Citibusiness Gold and as there was no decline message, I would assume conditionally approved. My question is, has anybody actually had Citi call their payroll department for confirmation of income? The message I got suggests somebody will call. If so I'll have to find out to contact them and give a heads up (and then Citi will also need to find out to contact them :p). I'm requested to send in payslips too so hopefully that will do. I'm hoping this one will get through, haven't had any luck with any of the 1:1 QFF cards in the past.

They do contact payroll. At least they did for me despite my salary and employment status being publicly available information.

Another fantastic example of Citibank screwing up everything they touch...

Got an email with my points balance and some 'offers' on what I could use them for...

The points balance section read as below (with my name where my handle is)

Your points balance as of 31 May 2012 is Dear Greenfrog86

I got exactly the same email this afternoon, with exactly the same error :) Interestingly, in 8+ years of holding a variety of Citi cards, this is the first email like this that I've ever received from them...

Cancelled my Citibank Platinum approx 9 months ago but have jumped on the train again with this one. Card arrived last night and rang up to activate. Could have taken 90% less time if they hadn't tried to sell me income protection insurance!

Anyway, good to be back and Westpac will be getting a call today to cancel the Earth card.

Does anyone know if you can get the bonus 50k sign up points if you apply in person within a branch (as has been suggested to avoid the Citibank pain)?

So, Citibank seem to have found a new way to piss their customers off.

I received an Australia Post "package awaiting collection at the Post Office" card yesterday. I had no idea what it was, but as I'm about to go overseas (tomorrow) for 10 days I rearranged my workday today so I could go down to the post office and collect it once it opened at 9am. Clerk hands me the parcel... and it turns out to be some junk mail from Citibank advertising their "luxury collection" of hotels and resorts.

Not only did they send me unsolicited junk mail, they sent it as an "eParcel" (despite just being an <A4 envelope) so I had to waste several hours of my day going to collect it! Grrrr!!!

Haha, I got a credit limit increase a couple of days ago as well.

I hate the restriction they have saying that the upgrade can only be 50% more than what you had. I had a paltry 6500 when I first joined because I had 10k in an Amex and 15k in a Nab Platinum.

Now I've got 15k on the amex, and have cancelled the nab card, got upgraded to 8500 about 9 months ago, and now on 12500 :)

Have got supp cards for my parents to use, so that we can all take advantage of 3.25 QFF pts per $) Love the citibusiness gold product.

What's the 3.25QFF per $ for? What kind of spend?

All expenditure, including bpay. I called up and said I was considering other cards, the lady offered to waive my annual fee, but I asked for more points instead and she put me on a "2 bonus points per $" until dec 31 2012

When did you do this? I got 1 bonus point per $ back in March/April (some others got 2 bonus points around this time). I tried again a month or so ago and they wouldn't offer me anymore...

Citi remains a four letter swear word for Mrscove and even though they are my Number One travel point supplier I am not sure she will ever tell me they are wonderful. Her last phone call with them would have made a comedy show.
i did not give up!

I did it in April as well. Sucks that there is so much inconsistency with Citibank. :S
