Gets a thumbs up from me -
OK they missed the first month, but went through perfectly month 2 - Even the 70k bonus !
1 pt per $ and only one small hiccup - Winners in my book

For reference's sake, I was approved on August 4th and the 70K bonus arrived today (Nov 5th). I spent the required amount within 1 week of approval.
I'm still waiting for 5K of points from the first statement which incorrectly went to the citibank rewards program instead of Qantas, though...

Had the same problem. Credited my points to their rewards programme for first month. Phoned and after a bit of a tussle, they remedied it and transferred them to Qantas. Even though I gave them my FF No. on applying for the card, apparently,
you still have to phone them to choose the Qantas option on activation.

Identical. I now usually apply on line (in part so I can explain my salary which is significantly higher than the 'official amount' due to overtime worked) and so that I can confirm that the rewards program is linked to QF. Yet, after the first month I realised I was sent 5000 citi reward points so I rung up and they initially offered 2000 QF points but I put my foot down and that was increased to 5000 Qantas points. I've since rung to setup the QF connection (since the first person didn't...) and sent private messages to see what's happening. I just checked my account and there was a follow-up private message telling me I was meant to get the 5000 QF points today so I've just replied asking what happened...

Because of this thread I checked multiple times that it was linked to QFF properly.
Just received statement and looks fine. Now the wait for the 70K bonus points.

Who warned us about Citi's incompetence?

Three times in the space of a month I've had to phone them to (a) enroll in the Qantas rewards program and (b) provide my FF details.

There may be a silver lining. I got a call from a supervisor offering me 10k points for my trouble.

Edit: I apply via the phone* not online.

I have since changed to Mr F Lastname, which matches what is shown on the top header on the QFF site when I log in. And this time, it works and got my 70k bonus.

Hope this helps for those who is struggling with this issue.

So its:

Mr F Lastname

No commas or anything when you look in your citibank rewards profile?

is the 70,000 Qantas Points and half annual fee for this card still active offer as i can see citi website showing new offer with 150,000 Reward Points in 15 months time . Thinking about apply for this card but rather get 70,000 Qantas points now instead of 150,000 Citi points in 15 months time ( 10,000 per month )

Be aware the bonus on this card is now 60,000 points and the discounted annual fee is $199 + $49 to opt into the rewards scheme.

In case anyone was wondering, there are no fee free international transactions with this card.

Yes Citibank in Australia charge 3.4% !!!!! fee for overseas spend (and spend even in AUD with an 'overseas' merchant) on their credit cards.

Signed my wife up recently to Citibank for the points.
1. When should I expect the bonus points? I spent the required amount immediately and just received our second statement.
2. Citibank are so bloody dodgy. We still havent received our QFF points from the first statement. I just called them up to find out whats going on and they said it failed (even though the website says Active and wait) because the name fields dont match with Qantas ie Title, First Name, Last Name.
The thing is, on the website, when you register to link Qantas, it just says enter your QFF name. Apparently the system just puts your whole name into the Last Name field. So its designed to fail and you have to call and chase up the points.

Signed up in August.
Signup was easy no drama (maybe because I already have an Plus Transaction Account with Citi)
Got the bonus points October no drama.
Just called up to cancel and they didn't want to let me go so easy.
Offered interest free transfer.
Offered no annual fee for life.
Offered to increase credit limit.

I asked them if they would refund the annual fee I had already paid. The answer was no.

They asked if I had only got this card for the 70,000 bonus points.

I told them no, I got this card because I was already a Citi customer.

Eventually the guy gave up .......... but said that I could call up and get the card re-activated in the next 3 months.

Onto Westpac Black now :)

My account was approved in June 2016 and as part of my application I provided my QF frequent flyer number, and spent over $3000 in the first 90 days. Today, 10 December, I called CitiRewards to see where my 70,000 bonus points are. The customer officer told me that, I was not entitled to the 70,000 points, because I didn't call CitiRewards within the 90 days and asked to be enrolled. Can anyone confirm it was a requirement to physically call Citi, even though I had already given them my QF frequent flyer number.

They didn't offer more points?

They certainly have interesting customer service. I should have a reasonably good excuse to cancel my card 2 months before the next annual fee is due given how much they've stuffed me around getting these bonuses transferred to my QF account. Still waiting...

I found trying to cancel the thing the most frustrating part of the experience - took me a good while to navigate phone banking to the point where I got an operator.

Once we we were done with me rebuffing the attempts to keep me as a customer they just sort of hung up on me!
