Citi Select - New Benefits

Yes Citi Select is really good as far as a points earning card goes for Singapore Airlines. Redeeming points for flights when you live in Perth has been pretty easy as it just becomes a question of turning left or right to go to Europe or North America.
I have only had to use Qantas once to hook up the Singapore - Perth flights due to no no business class availability.
Points warehousing is a big part of why I love the Select card as you avoid the 3 year expiry time clock starting so your earned points are not in jeopardy. Transferring in lumps of 15,000 Citi Rewards to make 10,000 Kris Miles is easy and the points transfer has never taken a long time to occur.
Yes paying an eighty dollar fee to gain those points is a bit of a winner especially if I am buying something for work at half price in America and getting it shipped.

I phoned after nine months using CitiBusiness Gold. I was told someone will call me in five business days. No call but Select card was delivered home on fifth day, today. Same limit, increased fee.
The PP benefit states unlimited, free entry for primary cardholder and one guest.

"Dear Trippin,

- One Complimentary hotel stay per year from a selection of over 50 premium hotels worldwide.
- Unlimited complimentary airport transfered when booking intl travel in biz/first through citibank travel.
- 5 points per $1 on international purchases.
- $500 Freestyle collection gift card whe booking luxury holiday over $10k through citibank travel.
- Unlimited Priority Pass with free guest.

does anyone have any experience with the free hotel stay?

Usually I find this sort of offer to be pretty useless...the conditions and black out dates make it impossible

I might give this one a go anyway and will let the forum know

I used mine in mid August for a night at the Sydney Hilton - no issues, and only booked it about a week before the stay.

Accommodation only or any extras - breakfast / Internet / parking / late checkout, etc.?

Accommodation only, as far as I know. I did get breakfast / internet / etc but that was due to the hotel honouring my HHonors Diamond benefits (even though they technically didn't have to).

does anyone know is the unlimited access for Priority Pass is automatically rewarded for existing members?

I already hv one thru AMex plat so does that mean if I show my Citi Select card, I get unlimited entry?? cos I hv used up mine for the yr already, but i didnt know about the unlimited off from Select.

You'll be issued a new PP card through having your citi select. The card is the same as your one issued through amex except that it allows unlimited entry + 1 free guest each visit. You don't show your citi select card.

With the PP card through citi select give u 1 guest free, but with PP card through AMEX platinum, do we get free 1 guest as well??

Unlike CitiSelect, Amex card does not allow free guest (guest is chargeable at USD27.50, or similar fee).

There are blackout dates, but pretty clear on this website when and where you can use it.

Citibank Australia

Booking was pretty easy. I even had to cancel it and no issues or penalties.

Have any Citigold members been able to snag the Select card for $350/yr as well as receive the 50,000 bonus reward points at signup? Just curious... ;)

YES - I upgraded from CitiBusiness Gold to Select whilst Citigold.

I told Citibank I wanted the sign on bonus which was 80K at the time - they eventually gave me 50K pts - fee was indeed $350 and not $700.

I'm not getting anywhere with Citi's PP card. Spent over an hour between 5 calls to Citi. First they told me PP card can be applied online using this weblink www.prioritypass.com/citibankaus and using a particular activation code.
That didn't work so I called PP in HKG who advised me that the link is specifically for Citi's signature cardholders.
I'm expecting a call from Citi tomorrow. All I got today were excuses and apologies.

Don't forget that the Citi Select is a Visa Signature card.

Yes, the black Select is a Visa Signature Card but different to the more common blue Citibank Rewards Signature Card, which is also a Visa Signature card, but with lesser benefits from Citibank. With the black Select card, the Priority Pass card should arrive automatically in 2-3 weeks after receiving the Citi Select credit card (no forms or activation are required). Citibank Rewards - Signature Cards (the blue Citibank Visa Signature cards) require application via the link (and quoting of the offer code which should be amongst the materials forwared wtith the Blue Signature card - it is from time to time printed on the statements as well) and receive a Priority Pass card that allows 2 free lounge entries rather than the Citi Select Priority Pass, which gives unlimited access to the cardholder and one guest for free.

That pretty well summarised and follows info that PP in HKG provided. Citi staff couldn't tell me.

Great, thanks for the info Cruiser Elite. To get the bonus points, did you apply for Select via your relationship manager, online, or over the phone on the Citigold 1800 number? Sorry for all the questions... ;) I'm still trying to decide whether to take the plunge or not - I like the fact that CBG is a good parking area for points until I decide what I want to do with them (QFF, etc.), whereas I would need to decide with Select. Decisions, decisions...

My 3 colleagues are now on six figure in warehoused points with their Citi Select (non Qantas) credit cards. It is a great Visa product for SQ redemptions. When I joined they only had 2,000 card holders and some of those were on the Qantas points. What that has meant is great availability to redeem your points.
