Typically we buy about $20,000 of gift cards from an Australian retail chain.
Are there any chain gift cards where there are discounts offered on bulk buys that are easy to purchase?
It would be nice to get more bang for the buck to hand out.

I'd suggest sticking with either the Woolies Wish card, or the Coles [or Coles Myer] cards.

I've seen industry organisations able to purchase them at 5-10% off, so presume for $20K worth either Coles or Woolies would be prepared to give a discount.

Not sure how you would go about asking though.

Edit: Here's the Woolworths process:

and the process for Coles Group:

Generally I feel staff would prefer one of the two cards above, as they are so widely used. (eg groceries, petrol, booze, homewares, electronics etc). The biggest issue with some cards (eg David Jones, Dymocks or Myer specific) is that people can't always find something they want.

Coles group (and possibly woolworths wish cards) cards can be got at a 5% discount through various sources such as the entertainment book or the presidential card.

Edit: Buying Wish cards from D!ck Smith and using the 5x bonus points on Amex might work as well.
