Christmas Bonus Of Up To 10,000 Velocity Points (2018)

I had to get the points for one of my auto barn transactions manually credited by Autobarn. The transaction date was 8th of Jan but it got posted with the activity date of the 9th Jan. Trying to get this resolved as it has made me miss out on 5000 points!
 
As our Autobarn points were not added until last week and the 5000 from Velocity was already posted, chasing up Velocity for the missing points now - hopefully wont be too hard. Autobarn were very helpful getting us copies of the receipts and manually adding in the points. Ironically when we went back to the store in April to get receipt copies, hubby had to buy something and the points were swiped and added almost immediately.

I’m still waiting for my Autobarn points to be credited. They have made contact. Then I’ll go back to Velocity as well to claim the missing 5000.

Points from Autobarn have now been applied. Now to contact Velocity to raise the missing 5000 case...
 
Any thoughts on these responses from Velocity - 20,000 Velocity points denied despite full compliance with the offer - because we can't prove we complied:

I have raised your concern that you did activate it on the website, and not on the email link that was sent out. Apparently, theres no other way for us to check on that. The website promotion should work the same way as the email link.

Once youve click the Activate link, that should pushed through right away. If not, then possible that there might be an issue with your browser settings or internet connection.

I understand how important this is, however we still have to abide by the Velocity Frequent Flyer Terms and Conditions which ensure all our members are treated equally and fairly which is why we have to politely decline your request.

Please know that any further correspondence relating to the same concern will no longer be entertained or responded to.

Im sorry we let you down and on behalf of Velocity Frequent Flyer I hope youll accept our sincerest apologies.

Walk away disappointed is my advice.

From their side, if the activation worked, it would have passed through to their servers, hence they suggest you could have had a browser/internet connection problem i.e. you clicked it, but it didn't get sent through. You could have checked by revisiting and it would have shown activated on the next visit.

Given it worked for so many and with no other proof either way, the balance of likelihood looks like a fault on your side. Unfortunate but I can understand why that was the outcome it was.

An update: autobarn manually added the 6 velocity points and backdated the activity date to December 6th. Just sent Velocity an email then asking for my extra 5000 points.

Poor guy at Autobarn probably thinks I'm the biggest tight cough complaining about 6 missing points but I was too lazy to explain the real reason.
 
Less than a week after contacting Velocity the 5000 bonus points had landed in my account. Pretty happy with that $3 purchase ;)

What email address at Velocity did you use please, @liamsal? I can't find anything on the missing points page or elsewhere that fits the brief. Points for Wilson Parking have finally posted - 5 months after the transaction.

Did you just use the Autobarn contacts form? I've tried it twice, and haven't had a reply either time

Like others above, we had problems with Autobarn. The Velocity card scanned as a Valiant part and we didn't realise until later. As others have said, Autobarn were terrific in sorting that out, and the item was credited correctly to my Velocity account, but a couple of calls to Velocity yeilded nothing but assurances that the correct points would automatically be assigned. Which they never were. The whole process was a lot of work for not much gain.

Didn't do the math? That means only about 11% of people registered

When did the Autobarn partnership end? I got 20 points from a purchase last month.


 
When I made a purchase earlier this month the guy told me they were pulling out of Velocity.

Obviously incorrect :eek::oops:
