Passenger numbers down at NZ quake airport

Must confess that since the quake I havent been to Christchurch perhaps its time to reconsider as used to love Christchurch and its surrounds

Anyone up for an AFF meet in Christchurch :D

I haven't been to Christchurch since 2009 and really enjoyed that visit.

I'd love to get back soon!

I was in Christchurch 2 months ago and can see why tourism has dropped. The city still resembles a disaster zone. Even in the CBD, there was hardly anything open (except for in the container village, which I must admit was great). Everywhere you went, you could see construction areas, traffic cones, fences and shipping containers. It's a nice place but has bit more work to do before I would consider it a viable tourist destination again.

I was last in Christchurch in early 2010 and it was a great place to visit; as it was on my previous visits. Fond memories of The Wizard. I have booked to go back to NZ early next year on holiday and unfortunately will not be visiting Christchurch.
