A little question for the collective brain pool, please. I'm doing a status run to CHC with a late arrival, return back departing at 7 am. There seems to be a shower in the Manaia lounge. Is that something I should attempt to book beforehand or can I expect to be able to walk in and have a quick rinse in the morning? Thanks!

I walked in there for a 7am or so flight from CHC to SYD last November and it wasn't too full and I was just able to walk in and shower... Not sure there was any sort of booking service?? I guess at that hour many people are coming from home/accommodation where they may already have had a shower...

Having a shower at home or in the accommodation is, of course, the more normal way. I decided be crazy enough to also test the sleeping pods (Jucy Snooze) right next to the airport. But if in the morning it looks like the showers there are not a great way to get going, I might just throw clothes on, walk to the airport and start the morning there. :D

Now that tested it, I can also add a comment for future reference. There were two separate bathrooms with a shower cubicle in them. Just like your bathroom at home. The whole lounge had about 10 people today at 6:30 am so both showers were vacant, just walk in and enjoy. :)

BTW, for someone with a common dietary requirement, the CHCi Manaia lounge had much better breakfast options than SYDi J lounge for dinner. In the future, I know not to count on having a full meal in the SYD lounge. The drink variety was good, though... o_O:D
