There is a report in the June 2006 Choice Magazine about airline lounges, and although it could be confused for an advert for the QF lounge I believe you get more info reading the threads in this forum. Realistically, the only lounge available in Australia for domestic travel is QF, although they write a little about REX Lounge (only in Adelaide and Sydney) and Virgin Blue (Blue Room - not The Lounge), and all readers of this forum know all about the QF Club. They also mention airline lounges for international travel by various carriers, but I wouldn't rush out to read the report when there is more, and up to date, info here on AFF.

The best lounge I have seen is what was the Ansett Lounge in what is now T2 SYD. I dont think any Qantas lounge (apart from the ones at SIN and the joint BA/QF lounge at HKG) comes close to what they had in AN. Also UA's Red Carpet Club at T3 SYD and in LAX, IAD and SFO cannot compare to what we have here in Australia. The comment about this forum being more informative than Choice on this subject is spot on. I have learnt so much just from reading the various and postings.

Hello Robert,
From your comments, I'm not sure you have actually been to the Red Carpet Club at SFO Intl.

:)

You remember the exact date you visited a lounge in SFO 6 years ago.

And here I am having trouble remembering the places I have visited in the last week ....

SFO RCC is one of the best UA lounge, but still lacking in some important respects. No real food, pay for drinks, no computers.

UA have a RCC at SYD T3?

Sorry thadocta. John K is impressed with my memory of 6 years ago, but the numbering of terminals at SYD has me challenged. There are only 3 and I should have said T1. Sorry:oops: . To John K, I don't know how I remember that date, but remembering what happened last week can also be a challenge for me. I do remember that the flight from IAD to SFO was delayed by six hours and the UA baggage handlers demolished my bag and the UA Customer Relations gave me an inferior replacement:mad:
