Looks like China domestically will recover quickly, really good bookings going forward

It is on Bloomberg so presumably not 'Fake News'.

I think China wants/needs the factories all up and running and for some normality to return. I think China has the capacity to bounce back quicker than most. I do wonder if International travel to/from China will be just as quick to recover though

Unfortunately again just too many impediments in place for MEL-SIN-PEK Mar 18/19 - PVG-SIN-MEL Mar 25/.26 - 14 self isolation reqd in PEK on arr - Tianjin Trade Show postponed from Mar 21 til whenever - probs with transfer PEK-PVG - probs with movt SH to HZ / HZ-SH - probs transit SIN dep PVG - self isolation on ret to MEL - bummer - 2nd China visit this year now cancelled - our business here has not been affected to any degree here as yet but we will have stock shortages in a month or 2 and our new product development is just crippled right now - Chinese factories are just scrambling to try to catch up but it just aint easy.

Pure speculation on my part but I wonder if in a few weeks Australia starts to allow visitors from China in AND then China bans visitors from Australia (except PRC citizens).

Don't know about that but as sure as night follows day some sort of normaility will return sooner or later - we'll prolly see Sorbent back on Supermarket shelves too but exactly when is $64 question.

Next scheduled trip is May 5 into PVG and May 12 out of PEK - time will tell - but I will need to be on 1st flt to PEK/PVG as soon as poss so as soon as the gate is opened i will be off like the proverbial.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Reports too that medical screening for flights arriving into PVG is leading to 'in-aircraft' holding of pax for up to 10 hours until medical crews can get around to processing pax. While I'm sure that's at the upper limit, you'd want to be in a premium cabin for a delay of even half that magnitude.

Great last line in that article

'just ask yourself the following question: Am I a human being? If the answer is yes, you will be asked to do a quarantine.'

So clearly the ‘book Olive Tree right now’ brigade were on the money - I can assure you there were no leaks here unlike that leaky NRL boat - so best we get about arranging OT dinner next week.

I think we should choose a night I was actually scheduled to travel - Wed was MEL-SIN then o/n SIN and Thu SIN-PEK - so ……………………… does Wed or Thu not suit majority of usual suspects? No never mind to me - I can swing both ways 👍😜😎

I'm six days into a fourteen day self isolation after returning from Thailand & Singapore last Monday. (WFH)

I somehow made it onto the OT emailing list - menu looks good ...

I could easily be tempted, if you don't mind being regaled with a litany of my miseries over the last month or so..will confirm tomorrow.

Holy cow - only 15 diners on OT right now - normally 50 to 80 this time We’d nts - Emilio says they have had mass cancelations every nt for next month

Get out there kids and try to support these fabulous institutions manned by genuine hard working fellow Aussie’s and lets see if we can stave off too much financial damage

Even though we basically self isolating due to our age tonight we decided we will visit our favourite restaurants more often even if just to get takeaway.

21:00 and there are 5 peeps in OT - our table 3 and 2 others - we are doing our best to stimulate MEL restaurant economy.

Others who have joined us previously will know exactly how penegal tends to cut sick with his table top dancing post 21:00 on a belly full of quality red wine - OMG - what the masses will be missing!!! 👍😁😎
